Best Hotels near New Haw Library and room hire, Runnymede District

We wanted a mini break for my family. The hotel is absolutely stunning,great facilities,restaurants.bar,spa .Grounds Ellie greeted us on arrival & showed us round .Such a lovely greeting made us feel very welcome.All the staff are very friendly & they make sure everything is perfect throughout your stay .Our food in moorish restaurant was again excellent.Staff gave us great service,making sure we had all we needed.The buffet is a great addition.All the food was absolutely delicious & very tasty. The spa experience was out of this world.Mia & jas showed us round & pointed us in the right directions for interior pool ,jacuzzi,sauna,steam room,outside pool . We also each had a full body massage.I have to say that was the best massage I’ve ever had .Great communication on needs ,right pressure.A definite must to de stress your body.Afterwards we relaxed in the Himalayan salt room .If your looking for a excellent hotel to stay in .You definitely won’t be disappointed. Quite frankly, by day 2 we had fallen in love with the place, all staff on all sections were brilliant. All facilities were clean, well maintained and up to spec. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, 2 saunas, ice plunge pool, tennis courts, orchard and children's play area. There is also archery, bike hire and even boat hire so you can have a little trip on the river. We didn't do breakfast but there is a lovely little coffee bar with pastries and for the evening meal the main restaurant operates a buffet style with about 30 options so you could try a little bit of everything. The quality of the food was also very good. Finally I'll just mention that my partner enjoyed a couple of treatments at the spa and said her experience was superb. This hotel is next to heathrow Terminal 4, just few minutes walk, but you need spend more time if planned to go to Greater London via public transport. The room is spacious and clean, but toiletries in bathroom can’t use easily due to the dispenser pump head design is small. The overall stay experience is very good, breakfast supply is abundant. All staff are friendly and kind especially Reception - Francis and Restaurant - Joy. Thank you.

The conference facilities and rooms are very nice. The breakfast was gorgeous. Special mentions to Laura who was our concierge for my meeting on Thu 18th Oct and then happened to also serve me breakfast on Fri morning. What a fantastic individual, very attentive and friendly. Stayed here for a night after two days at Legoland, you enter through the bar and there is a kind of reception beyond it. They tell you that there are no breakfast facilities and how to get into the hotel if you are going to be out late, but not how to get out in the morning, more on that later. They showed us to the family room, through a rabbit warren of passageways where the roof is so low that there is foam fitted to stop you bumping your head, now they do say it is a 300-year-old inn. The first impressions of the room were good, large and on different levels, with plenty tea and coffee. They tell you at time of booking that the family room does overlook the beer garden and can be quite noisy, there is a form of double glazing, but this was one of the hottest nights of the year, however, there was a fan in the room and a pint of ice from the bar turned this into our air conditioning system. Now for the problems, when we plugged in our phone chargers all the lamps started to flicker, this really needs checked. Then my partner said the carpet outside the shower room was damp, now this could have been due to the extremely loose hot tap in the wash hand basin, it was so lose you had to hold it with one hand and turn it on with the other, the water was scalding so when you held it to turn it off it burnt you, not good when you are trying to encourage your 7 year old grandson to always wash his hand. Also, there was no plug so you couldn’t mix the hot water with cold to cool it down. In the morning the more likely reason for the damp carpet was found, when you turned on the shower water went everywhere as the shower rose was old and broken, then the water didn't drain away quick enough, and the shower tray overflowed. I would have mentioned these problems to the staff in the morning if there had been anyone there, but there wasn't. The door to the bar was locked and there was a key box on the wall to leave the keys then you exited the property through an emergency exit, which led to a narrow passageway that contained the bins, delightful, then into the beer garden. The main door back into the bar was also locked and you had to work out that there was a gate that you could get out, but you wouldn't have been able to get back in if you had forgotten anything. One other thing, we put our grandson to bed early and I got a couple of drinks from the bar to take to the room, over £22 for a large G&T and a Whisky & Ginger Ale, now that is even more expensive than Legoland and I thought that would have been hard to beat!

2nd time we've stayed here the night before a flight and overall very satisfied. The rooms are clean and well equipped and the beds are large and very comfortable. Less than 10 minutes by Uber to T3 and very short walk away from a decent pub. Only complaint is that we parked outside the entrance briefly while we checked in and got lumped with a £5 parking fee which is not made clear by any signs. We tried to question this at the desk but the staff's first language was not English and they didn't understand our query.

I know i will arrive London Heathrow late. So I tried to choose a hotel not far from airport to crash out a night before heading to London. I choose Holiday Inn Slough Windsor because I think instead of stay in airport hotel, at least I can go take a look at Windsor castle in the morning - there is no much different between 20 minutes Uber and 12 minutes to most of the airport hotel near Heathrow Airport. In fact I arrived 4 hours later than I should be - checking in after midnight...very smooth. As I am Platinum member of IHG member , I was pre-assigned executive room on 8th floor. Looking inside room, I have to say this room is better than my expectation of Holiday Inn: with Lavazza Coffee Machine, with slipper and all necessary amenities. In the morning I called a Uber to Windsor Castle just take a look. It cost between 7 - 9 pounds one way, about 8 minutes. Hotel to Slough Station, another 8 pound, about 6 minutes. Slough Station to Paddington, 10.8 pounds on GWR , 18 minutes. Overall the 2 hotel staffs I met, all very kind and friendly, everything is very smooth, everything works. It is by far better than a convenient hotel only , it is a very decent hotel and especially if you drive , there is ample car park, and good value to visit London and nearby area.

1. For passengers who depart early or arrive late at T3, the location is unparalleled and convenient. It is really great to be able to take a shower and sleep after getting off the plane and entering customs; 2. There are no other problems with the room except that it is a little small. It is clean and tidy. , The decoration is elegant and simple, and it is very comfortable to sleep; 3. The breakfast is not very good, one horn, one muffin, a small box of fruit and a box of yogurt. Sandwiches require an additional 5 pounds, which is very stingy; 4. It is not very convenient to rent a car and return it. The next day I went to t2 to pick up the car. When I drove back to pick up my luggage, I could only park at t3 shortstay. There was no way to park in front of the hotel to pick up my luggage. It was either a bus lane or a taxi lane.

Although I reviewed this hotel back in June, I thought I would give an update on our last, and definitely final, visit to this hotel. In July we stayed at the Sheraton for one night and parked our car at the hotel for 3 weeks. After midnight, when we had gone to bed, we heard a high powered car being revved and raced around the car park. Yes, someone was using the car park as a race track, using the cars parked there as the edges of the track! Someone else was taking pictures on their mobile phone. We contacted reception, who sent out a security guard and another member of staff. They, however, obviously knew the people racing the car and had a good laugh and joke with them before returning to the hotel, leaving the racers still revving their car and taking photos. I took photos too (attached). My wife was incensed by this total lack of interest from the hotel, and stormed down to reception. One of the people who had gone out to the car was there, plus the duty manager looking rather sheepish. They apologised with a grin on their faces and seemed to think that it was totally acceptable to them that this was going on as the people racing the car were members of staff!!! An incredible attitude. And it was obvious from their reaction that this was not a first time occurrence. Realising that we weren't going to get anywhere with the totally useless members of staff, and as by now the racers had left, we decided to raise the problems with a senior member of staff the following day. A couple of the managers we spoke to on the following day were disgusted at what had happened the previous night. Unfortunately they had already handed in their resignation as they weren't happy with the way the hotel is being run. So decide if you're happy to leave your car at a hotel that condones its staff using the car park as a race track and what damage they could do to your car. Remember, any damage to your car is not the responsibility of the hotel, even if it's their own staff who have caused the damage! Please read the other reviews regarding cars being damaged at this Hotel. I posted a review on the Marriott website and received a very defensive response from the front desk duty manager. She apologised for the fact that staff were racing cars in the car park but didn't seem to really take it seriously. This experience, combined with the non-working air conditioning in the bedrooms, the tvs in the bedrooms that often don't work, the gaffer-taped tatty old carpeting in the hallways, the scruffy pool area that is hardly ever swept clean, the downgraded quality of the Club Lounge and the withdrawal of the Club concierge service seems to be indicative of a company seeking to justify changing the branding of this hotel to one of Marriotts budget brands. However, they're still charging 4 star prices for a hotel that now struggles to give one star service. Shame on you Marriott for ruining a formerly very good quality hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel i was quickly checked in and upgraded to a better room on a high floor with a view. The hotel is located on London Road and there are regular buses to and from Heathrow airport. I have also have full buffet breakfast included in my booking and there is a bar and restaurant in the hotel. Great value for money and convenient location for Heathrow airport.
