Grantham House

I highly recommend this B&B if you want a break in Ryde, Isle of Wight. Chris, the owner, was very welcoming, even before we arrived. Payment was easy, all online and it was great value. He also gave us a link with a discount on the Wightlink ferry and a comprehensive list of local restaurants etc. Once there, he talked us through some of the things to do, see or experience and gave us advice about the local transport. He gave us a tour of his beautiful house too, which is a gorgeous Victorian villa with lots of original features. The house has free Wi-Fi. Our two rooms, the Bay and Lavender rooms were huge, with a sink in each. A few hangers were available as were drawers. Lots of light in each with blackout blinds. The beds were king size with good quality bed linen. Everything was clean and tidy. The towels were big, soft and fluffy. If you book the two upper rooms, it’s on a B&B basis with fresh, good quality, plentiful, tasty, continental breakfast. The basement apartment is self catering. Chris’ garden is huge, about 70-80 m long. It’s well kept and easily accessible. The beach is about 300m down the road, local shops about 10 mins walk and there are many bars, pubs and restaurants. However, some restaurants close relatively early like 9:00 pm. If you book Grantham house, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Chris for a lovely stay. Julie, Janet and Donna
