What I can't understand is how the National Ministry of Tourism inspector renewed its 3-star status as recently as 2022! We didn't use the restaurant facilities at all so can't comment on them, but our room and no doubt all the others are long overdue for a refurbishment. To say that it is 'tired' is an understatement. The carpet had been badly mended at the bathroom entrance - photo attached, the desk surface was quite badly damaged, the chair and stool were too high to be able to sit at the desk, the curtain was hanging with two of the hooks unconnected, in short, it wasn't a good place to stay. I fixed the curtains, it wasn't hard. On the plus side, the chambermaid did a good job every day in changing the towels and bath mat and making our bed, the water was hot and the shower pressure was fine. The free wifi was the best of our holiday stay. On arrival, there was no kettle or coffee maker which is standard in hotels of any class these days in the UK. There is no lift to the hotel and as far as I could see, the rooms have no smoke sensors. Seriously, the 2-star Holiday Inn Express we stayed in at Folkestone was so far superior to this Kyriad, it beggars belief. The information for guests in the room invites you to 'Make yourself at Home' and offers a "Courtesy Tray" - a 'hot drink accompanied by a French-made sweet' and a "Free bottle of water to refresh yourself after your journey" - photo attached. I went to reception and showed them the info and they seemed surprised. They told me to return to my room and they would bring it to us. It consisted of a couple of paper cups, a small selection of coffee sachets and tea bags, sugar and two wrapped small biscuits, a classic case of over-promising and under-delivering. But they did bring a kettle which they left with us for the rest of our stay, but we're still waiting for the bottles of water. Oh, and the lady who came from the restaurant area when I rang the bell on our arrival was totally unsmiling and obviously couldn't wait to get back to having a social time with her colleagues. Thankfully, other members of staff were more courteous and friendly.

Charming welcome, room just clean, bathroom quite poorly maintained just like the common areas: poorly painted doors. Very good breakfast with friendly staff. Adequate for the price. Parking at the front of the hotel unguarded

The bedding was perfect. The rooms were very clean as well as the bathrooms. The welcome by the receptionist upon our arrival was warm and welcoming. Very polite and friendly. The garden was welcoming and quiet although we were in a commercial area.

In general it needs a good renovation, everything looks quite old and outdated. One of the most important things when you go to a hotel is to rest, in this case it is complicated, the mattress is completely sagging, it needs urgent replacement. Something incomprehensible is that in the entire room there is only 1 socket to charge devices, if you have a computer, tablet and mobile phone you have a problem. The positive part is the parking, free and easily accessible, also the restaurant, I quite liked it, good product at an appropriate price.

I booked via ******* with cancellation possible up to 2 days in advance. Following a computer problem, neither ******* nor the hotel agreed to cancel my room. So I had to review all my planning so as not to lose money and decided to turn this page. Welcoming a person whose smile is not honest. It’s overplayed! No comments about my prior cancellation request either. Room blah blah: Stains on the walls and carpet, TV from another era, hairs, no cup to brush your teeth, hard mattress, completely damaged table, furniture also damaged, zero soundproofing. All for 85 eur! At the start, no one at reception. This is what awaits you.

It may be a good 2* but certainly not a 3*. I don't understand at all the price of breakfast: 12€! This is theft ! There are choices but only industrial and bland! Not even a coffee machine, local cheese or fresh bread. The room furniture is basic. Lack of sockets...only one for the bedroom! The mattress was not comfortable (big hollow in the middle). On the other hand, it was clean and the staff were really very nice!

We spent one night in this hotel, the manager is accommodating, the staff friendly, smiling and attentive. The room is quite adequate and more than sufficient for one night. Breakfast a little expensive but plentiful. There is no catering at lunchtime, but we were able to take advantage of the flowery and well-shaded garden to eat a sandwich bought in a nearby bakery.

I show up at the hotel and give my name to the person who introduces himself as the manager, I inform him that the reservation was made by my company and that there is full support, that there there are also 2 other people who will arrive after me in the same conditions. He tells me that there is no room in my name, but that for the other two people it's ok. I turn on my PC, I present him with the confirmation voucher received by email, indeed the voucher includes the name of my assistant, however this is not the first time that this has happened and no hotelier worthy of the name has ever spoken to me denied access in over 20 years of displacement. I explain that it is the name of my assistant, that it is a professional account, but he refuses access and treats me like nothing, taking me for an *****. He places the room key in front of me on the counter then takes it back, laughing and saying among other things "we're going to play it like that, it's the wrong name, no room". I leave the hotel and send an email to my assistant so that she can change my name. About ten minutes later the same person who tells me he is the manager comes and taps on my car window and asks me if I have had my assistant's name replaced with mine on the reservation, I tell him that the request by email is in progress and I am waiting for the return. He mentions the name of my assistant and makes fun of me again, I tell him that I have never been treated this way by a hotelier, he goes back to his hotel. My assistant calls me back, she informs me that she made a simple call to the hotel and they changed the name of the reservation without any difficulty... She also informs me that the person criticized during the course calls and finally that he changed the name and confirmed that I could take the room. I close my PC and go to reception where a new person is installed, the pseudo "manager" is right next to him and acts as if he had never seen me in his life. I give my name and I am told that there is no reservation in my name! I call back my assistant who calls the hotel directly, I explain after the call to the new person that I have been waiting for an hour in the parking lot because the guy next to him refused to give me the key and that my assistant got on the phone with him 5 minutes ago and he hasn't changed the name. The pseudo "manager" lies in front of his college, I suggest viewing the scene where I present him the voucher on the hotel's video surveillance, the pseudo manager becomes very tense, I also understand that the guy is not the manager of the establishment. This is who you were about to book with. The irony is that the 3 stars are not deserved, the establishment is not clean (hair in the bathroom, hair on the sheets, urine dripping on the bathroom partition. TO FLEE.
