A very pleasant stay This was our first stay in a house with a thatched roof - and it has to be said the property was immaculately presented, with a great blend of the new and the old. Modern facilities such as a new shower, but little aspects of the original design preserved too, and a very homely feel. Kevin and Nicky were lovely hosts, they made us feel welcome throughout. The cooked breakfasts were really nice, in particular the home-made black currant & butter jam went down well with my girlfriend! Lots of lovely walks in the surrounding area. The New Inn pub is a few minutes walk away, which serves really nice food and good local ales. Would love to stay again when we next visit Devon :)

Nicky was a fabulous host, she was Helpful but not over the top. Lovely restored property and spacious bedroom. Great scones and best breakfast freshly prepared. If you want the country feel you should go, little walks around the village and old church was open

We stayed here as it was a short walk from my friend’s remote location we were visiting for the wkd. In a unique village, the farmhouse has stayed loyal to its character and traditions. The double room was impeccable, the hospitality was warm and stood-out as a highlight. Both Nicky & Kevin were fascinating and very nearly became the highlights of the wkd ahead of the ‘end of summer’ celebrations we visited for! We were welcomed into the local traditions and enjoyed their lovely accommodation that focused, not just on Dartmoor/Devon but very much the village of Sampford Courtenay past and present. We both enjoyed breakfasts made predominantly from local produce - this was especially impressive. Personally, I look forward to freshly cocked breakfasts while I’m away from home - I feel I should state that I had two of, if not the best dishes to date; the cooking was perfect from every aspect. It tasted incredible. We regretted not strolling through the garden visiting the chickens that laid such fine eggs. However, the whole experience is unforgettable. A truly great stay in a very old building that had all the comforts you could wish for. A real 5⭐️

This is by far the best B&B we have stayed in. Nicky and Kevin are lovely hosts and genuinely wanted to make our stay as perfect as they could. Our room was very comfortable and quiet so we both had a good night's sleep throughout our stay. Decaf tea and coffee were provided along with homemade shortbread. We were offered a Devon cream tea when we arrived which we had to decline as we had an early evening table booked at the New Inn which is only minutes down the road. Next time we stay we'll have to arrive earlier to take Nicky up on her kind offer! Breakfast was served in a beautiful room off the main hallway with choices of cereals, homemade granola and yoghurt served with berries or compote, followed by a cooked breakfast. We were certainly set up for the day ahead. The farmhouse is located in a beautiful, unspoilt village, famous for the Prayer Book Rebellion in 1549, with countryside walks all around. We will definitely return.
