Wonderful spring break family trip March 2022! Some slowness on food/cleaning up the downstairs lobby lounge side areas but they were adjusting & training staff to adding back more options from the pandemic

As a platinum elite Marriott member, we are constantly traveling, and having stayed at a few JW hotels, I can honestly say there are some questionable decisions with this property that are disappointing as a JW resort. For example, being told we could not sit at an outside covered table near the lobby because the pizza we ordered was not “resort property food” and it was a health code violation - per a recent policy change by the food and beverage director. I completely understand this for outdoor restaurant seating, but this was far from any restaurant, and there were no signs, waitstaff, or any indication of its seating. Others utilize the same tables to play games or hang out while not being told the tables are for “restaurant guests.” If you visit, be aware that you will be targeted and singled out if you order off-site food and told you should to eat in your room or out on the lawn picnic-style away from the buildings. In separate situations we had to request several times for items before it would arrive. One was an extra item for our room and the other was for poolside drinks. On the flip side, this is a beautiful property and one for families to enjoy with the water park, and while these issues did not dampen our trip, they are issues the property should consider addressing overall.

This is the fifth time I have stayed here, and things are still great. Service level is great at all of the restaurants and amenities, and generally the property is in great condition as I can tell they have done some work around the pool area since everything is now 14 years old. It can get crowded on summer weekends, but there is plenty of room to move around and the hotel does a good job of accommodating the large amount of people while maintaining a high level of service. The location is awesome with lots of wildlife watching especially if you get out on the golf course.

The staff were the star of the show. From the moment we arrived to the morning we checked out, we felt so well taken care of. The resort is large enough and has enough amenities to spend all your time there. Food and beverages were spendy, but that doesn’t seem out of the ordinary these days. We’ve had great experiences at other JW Marriott resorts and this was no different.

What a disappointment. My wife, son, and I stayed here this weekend for a babymoon and I was let down at the service we received and the quality of the accommodations. After check-in we walked in our room. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed my a very unpleasant smell coming from our bathroom. Almost like someone just used our toilet. Immediate turn off. Most resorts have a signature smell and I doubt that’s what JW’s signature smell was. Furniture was very worn as well. Scratches all over it. After we settled in our room we decided to explore the resort. We went to the water park/pool. Upon entering there is a little station where you can grab towels. We had a small tote bag with us with some water bottles and my sons life vest in it. I was shocked when they stopped us to search our bag. They had literally just let multiple people in without searching who had way bigger bags than us. Maybe because we were the only minorities in that group of people. At this point I was kind of annoyed but brushed it off because it was hot and there was a clear pool in front of me. Besides the pools being crowded and being a little dirty we had a really good time. After the pool it was time to eat! With so many options we were torn but settled on High Velocity Sports Bar. The atmosphere was great and they had the college World Series on. However, food quality was below average. My son got the kids buffet and my wife and I ordered from the menu. I’d say our entrees were on par with the kid’s buffet. It honestly tasted like frozen prepackaged processed food. Nothing special at all. At this point I was 5 alcoholic drinks in and still didn’t have a buzz. I haven’t drank in months so I thought one or two drinks would do it for me. After dinner we grabbed s’mores at the hilltop fire pit (which is not on the hotel map) and watched the movie by the pool before retiring to our room for the night. This is when things got very weird for us. Over the span of the next 2 hours we received 3 phone calls from the front desk asking if we had found medicine in our fridge. We told them “No” every single time and they still continued to disturb us. On the third call, after we were laying in the bed we were told that a security guard was outside of our door needing to check the fridge. My son was already asleep and my wife and I were in our pajamas. I was furious at this point and let the security guard know about it when he walked into my room and found NO MEDICINE! He didn’t really seem to care about what I was saying. Finally, the next morning we decided to eat the breakfast buffet at Cibolo Moon. There was a wait in the morning and we checked in with the hostess. After about a 20 minute wait we got a text telling us our table was ready. We walked to the hostess stand and there was a long line of people waiting to put their name on the list. Rooms were small and balconies face each other, which is weird. Also, there's freaking bees everywhere at the pool and water park! "Bee" ready for that. Fire alarms went off at least 5 times one night. This is definitely not the quality you pay for. They wouldn't even let us take a luggage cart to our room! Someone had to come up with one and wait for us to load it! What? Do y'all need tips that badly? Very overpriced and not luxury quality at all. Get rid of the millions of bees around the pools, and the people who don't know what they're doing. If I pay $500 a night, $20 a drink, and want to get my own luggage cart, I should be able to. Also, the top golf bays are dirty and the games kept freezing. Glad we did that! Good luck whoever goes!

We stayed at the property for spring break and had a great time with our 2 kids! There was plenty to do and plenty of options to eat! The staff was amazing, and room service was quick! If we ever needed anything it was simple to get help!
