Residence Inn San Diego Downtown

Excellent location for exploring downtown San Diego. Rooms were updated yet some older furniture is still used. Beds were comfortable and pool is heated. Rooms facing the back will likely hear noise from the train that is passing right behind the hotel. If possible, opt for a room facing the front. When I raised the issue during checkout, the General Manager handled my minor complaint very well.

This is our 3rd visit to this beautiful hotel. I was helped by front reception Salvador who was so helpful for me as a single mom travelling for the first time with my young daughters. They even have a kids treasure box!!! The staff in the kitchen work so hard and make every effort to service our hungry families for morning breakfast. I stayed here with my daughters in March 2024 and convinced my sister to choose this hotel as a return in for 4th of July. My family was impressed with the sizeable rooms, were super happy with the convenience of a full kitchen, and breakfast provided daily. The pool is heated with pool toys, fire pit, BBQ pit and games in patio. The location is superb! 2 blocks to Little Italy where it smells like garlic. Between upscale restaurant/lounges, Italian restaurants and much more. Also, the metro is a block from hotel which is a quick ride into old town or gas lamp. Across PCH is Maritime Museum and Liberty Park. My kids really enjoy the pedi cabs at night too. Mission Beach is just 7 miles away. It's nice to enjoy a family vacay in SD without spending so much on hotel/food thanks to everything this place has to offer. We will definitely return here as it is our home away from home during our staycation in SD. Please stay here with your fam, you won't regret it!

I feel the service is good, but the building and equipment are not new. Noise from water pipe is big when using shower in another room.

The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was also very clean. It is really close to a near by park that my son loved.

One complaint I did have was the mishap with my room which initially doubled charged me. I believe the manager was able to fix it but I was aware that I had a remaining balance when I checked out.

Everything as expected and pretty good Breakfast very good One sprinkler went off in our room on the third evening. They moved us rooms but they probably should have done something more for us. Location is 10 min walk to lots of stuff. Convenient but not right at anything.
