Even though it’s not part of the hotel the café downstairs Café gooseberries is a wonderful joint for food and coffee and love that it’s at the bottom and you can sit in the seats even when it’s closed. I also like that they have codes to get in the gates or the elevator that makes it safer, there are quite a few homeless people around the neighborhood in building made walking at night as a solo woman traveler unnerving. The staff was nice. Paul is great. The parking is convenient, but I did not like how they didn’t tell me how much each spot was Going to charge. Love that it’s so close to downtown Hillcrest shops and dining and everything else.

The location is good, but the bathroom "door" is one of the worst features I have ever encountered. There is no privacy in the bathroom. It would be fine if you are staying in the room by yourself, but it is extremely awkward if you are not. The parking situation is also not great. If you are going to charge for parking, you need to paint some numbers in the parking area and guarantee the spot to the guest who paid for it. We didn't move our car the whole time we were there because we were concerned about losing the spot.

No room service / cleaning up, of any kind, during an 8 day stay. Had to call the hotel to get more toilet paper.
Nice place, but NEEDS A DEEP CLEANING, AND MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT TO TUNE UP systems and practices.

Quirky place. Beds were comfortable but in a loft that was more like a crawlspace. The bathoom light was super dim we had to use of cell phone flashlight … Since we booked by third party we got a call the day of check-in saying they needed a credit card on file before we arrived and that they would charge a $200 damage deposit. there is no front desk or check-in. We had another reservation for a few weeks from now, but decided this was not the place for us and canceled.

Hotel is not easy to access given than there is no staff you have to remember the codes they give you . They were accommodating and easy to deal with

The location is centrally located for everywhere I wanted to go in San Diego. My room was very nice and a great deal. My only small complaint is that the neighborhood looks a little run down, but nothing major.
