We felt very cared for at Hacienda Las Amantes, but also given space and solitude which we appreciated. Very comfortable and clean rooms with lots of charm. Wonderful home cooked breakfast. Overall a unique property that we were very pleased to have chosen.

Disappointing -Very Overrated for the Price
The property is beautifully decorated, very charming with great views and close proximity to the center of town but it costs the same as a fancy boutique hotel and it is not. The hot water didn't work properly. There is basically no reception and no one who speaks English. Our room was advertised with a fireplace and private hot tub. Neither of them worked and the private hot tub was on a regular pathway for the staff rounds. Our room was relatively quiet, but I saw that other rooms were right next to a very busy and noisy road. The room we booked online came with free breakfast, and we showed them the page, but they insisted we still must pay for breakfast (which was very good by the way) and pay in cash. The staff seemed generally very nice, but overall this hotel was a disappointment. It needs to either lower its prices and/or fix its services and honor the amenities it advertises.

This old hotel is just perfect for your stay in San Miguel. Very small with only a few rooms. Off the beaten path and away from the noise of the plazas and shopping/dining areas. Gorgeous central garden and rooftop patio to relax in the morning with coffee and at night with a bottle of wine. We stayed on the first floor, which may not be for everyone since you do hear an occasional car or motorbike. But the room was dark, cool and quiet and we slept like babies. There is no AC, but we did not need it in the middle of March. Highs around 80 F and lows around 45F. The colonial walls are a foot thick and keep out the majority of the noise, heat and cold. It was very enjoyable each night. The breakfast was authentic and great each day. There is a La Europa just a few blocks away where you can get water, wine, etc. No restaurant and no bar in the hotel. This is a colonial era building. The city has two challenges for Americans: not alot of english and it is very much a cash economy. Luckily I speak Spanish; but if you do not, be prepared.

This is just a wonderful place to stay. It says “hotel” but felt more like staying in a beautiful home. The owner lives on site and is a gracious hostess and rightfully proud of her beautiful property. The staff is friendly, courteous, and so helpful for any request. Highly recommend!!!

The property is unique; the spaces will transport you to a movie scene! The only downside was that our room did not have AC, which made our stay uncomfortable.

We just left Hacienda las Amantes and knew we had to immediately post a review. Wow! What a spectacular place in a spectacular Pueblo. We were greeted by David at the front door and he was extremely polite and professional throughout our check-in experience. David was very efficient and helpful in getting us acclimated to the hotel and getting us situated in our room. This property is over the top in historic charm. Lots and lots of stairs, but all worth it for the beautiful surroundings. The room itself was cozy, but well organized and well appointed with all the amenities. The best part, though, was the spacious and private patio which might literally have the best view in all of San Miguel de Allende. Gorgeous plants and nice seating area with a perfect view of the Parroquia. Breakfast was included and it was very well done with help from Estella and Dana. Many options and all were delicious, but we recommend the Huevos a la Mexicana. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Hacienda Las Amantes. We will be back!
