For the price you can't beat this hotel. Exceptionally clean room and friendly staff. I will definitely stay there again next time we are in town.

The staff were friendly and inviting. Helpful when asked questions. The rooms were clean. A few small quirks but nothing distressful. Our alarm clock was broken and made a weird noise(a broken static buzzing), but we didn't need it so we just unplugged it. The phone was very hard to hear on, but who really uses those anymore with cell phones available (I had tried to call the front desk for some extra pillows, but it's so close I just walked down instead). Bed was a tiny bit squeaky, but not a big deal, could probably just use some adjustmenting.

Though we were a bit worried when we drove in to the property due to it’s small “motel” look from the front, it is definitely NOT a “motel”. We checked in to end room 110 and assumed all they had was 10 rooms! But, when we opened the door we knew our first impression was wrong. Super neat and clean, all the basics, everything you need for a week stay. No, it’s not the Ritz Carlton, but it’s not a Motel 6, either. We discovered they had 2 stories of rooms in the back, so it was at least 3 times bigger than we thought. Comfy beds, plenty of pillows, cold a/c, and the bathroom looked brand new. The shower was better than most ****** hotels we’ve visited. And with its small size, service was top notch and breakfast was plentiful, fresh and tasty. Overpriced big hotels give you burnt gravy, dry biscuits, folded eggs and under and over cooked bacon or sausage. Econolodge South in Sandusky OH gives you waffles that are cooked on always clean irons, plus the usual carbs, cereals, etc. Plenty of options…I highly recommend this location to anyone going to Cedar Point and surrounding sites!

The rooms smelt musty and some other order that was bad when we arrived. We had to keep the front door open and turn on the bathroom fans. The walls had dirt all over them by the bathroom. All the other walls looked like they had food stuck on them. One of the beds was broken and had metal pieces sticking out. Had to cover them with towels so we wouldn’t get hurt. Fridge had garbage and gunk inside and looks like it’s never been cleaned. Surfaces were definitely not wiped down. It was all around gross.
