Tarpon Tale Inn

Tarpon Tale Inn. I recently stayed there with a few friends. They include everything in your stay and when I say everything I mean everything. We had a newly remodled (Thank you Ian) full kitchen minus the oven of course with a full size refrigerator. There's also a gas grill which we used frequently. It slept three which was comfortable. You also have your own private little deck/bistro area. Complimentary beach wagon, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and anything else you really could think of to go to the beach. All you need to bring is sunscreen. I think I even saw some coolers when we were there however we didn't opt to use them as we brought our own. It's only about a 6 minute walk to the Gulf from there. They are also located right across the street from Wickies and there's an ice cream shop and a gift shop and clothing shop right across the street. Joe is very accommodating. So if you have any needs or questions he will gladly help. Skip the big resort condos and give your business to the mom and pop resorts.

A very quaint Inn. Very quiet when we were there. The owner has so much compassion about Sanibel Island and the Inn. Extremely clean you would never know there was 5 feet of water in there less than two years ago. it is just such a charming little place. Great coffee place across the road with phenomenal cookies and ice cream. A nice restaurant across the street. The beach is a 5 to 10 minute walk depending upon your speed chairs umbrella and a wagon are provided. Just a great place.

Our first trip to Sanibel and it was a success in large part to Joe and Connor. Their customer service and communication were top notch. The cottage was cute and clean. The "extras" such as beach cart, chairs, sand gear, toys were all provided so we didn't need to pack a bunch of stuff or rent anything. The location was great too. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and there was a great restaurant and ice cream shop right across the street. We were very comfortable at Tarpon Tale and felt very welcomed. We loved this place. Our room was perfect, very well equipped, very clean. There are chairs, an umbrella, towels and a cart to take to the beach. You can walk to go to the beach. it's really close. The place has beautiful details, everything is well maintained, pleasant. Very friendly hosts.

Wonderful stay at the Tarpon Tale Inn. Beautiful room with everything that you need. Huge plus points were the beach towels, beach buggy and beach chairs and only a 5 min walk to a beautiful beach. We borrowed the onsite bikes to cycle to dinner one night which was a great way to see more of Sanibel. Welcoming and friendly staff - Joe keep up the fantastic work.

My husband and I enjoyed 3 luxurious days on Sanibel Island at the Tarpon Tale Inn. We were in the Mermaid room which is the smallest room and is located next to the office which was never a problem -- it was always very quiet. The room was decorated in soothing aqua tones and the bed was super comfy. There was a coffee maker and a small fridge/freezer and microwave. Plates, cups, mugs, silverware, bottle opener, etc., were all provided. There's also a private patio outside the room. Bathroom was lovely and shower had great water pressure which we appreciated after a long day soaking in the sun. The Inn also has quite a few commons areas with tables, hammocks, a shell washing station, a fire pit, bicycles and an outdoor shower. Joe is a wonderful host and made us feel at home! This is one of the best stays we have ever had. The inn is close to the lighthouse and beach -- about a 2 minute drive away. Be sure to go across the street to Wickie's Restaurant. Charlie makes the best cocktails! The food is also divine. The hubs and I are foodies and every meal was a home run. Thank you, Joe! We cannot wait to return.

Joe was an incredible host. There are no words to describe how amazing this place is! Where else could you get a beach wagon, chairs and an umbrella on your private porch? Joe has thought of every detail. Loved the shell washing station, outdoor shower and hammock. Location is a 10! Lighthouse was a short walk and the beaches are beautiful. Wish we had more time to enjoy the fire pit area and the island.

My husband and I were coming to Sanibel for our 30th anniversary and the place we had booked canceled us 2 weeks before our arrival. We found Tarpon Tale and now it’s our new favorite! Island Sunset was perfect for us… quiet, cozy, very clean and included everything we’d need for our stay… full kitchen with new appliances, a roomy and newly tiled shower, loveseat for late TV watching (a must for the hubby!) and a patio for drinking our morning coffee. A beach wagon and chairs were on the patio for the short walk to the beach and other items were available to borrow… straw hats, shovels, scoops and coolers. There is a nice common area with furniture, hammocks, fire pit, grill and there are bikes are right outside your door to use to ride the paths or to the close shops and restaurants. We felt like we were in a cute beach cottage and the owner, Joe, was available and on the property if we needed anything. We enjoyed our special celebration and we will definitely be staying again!

We stayed in the Mangrove Suite. It was so quiet, comfortable bed, full kitchen to use along with the outdoor grill, great patio and outdoor seating area. We rode bikes daily to restaurants, checked out everything along gulf drive went to the old cemetery. We used the wagon, umbrella, beach chairs and cooler to take to the beach, there are three beaches within minutes away. Joe is a fantastic owner he's always there to help with anything you may need. We will be back!
