We arrived at past midnight to meet an elderly receptionist who refused to let my 7yr old stay. For almost an hour we were stuck at reception. Tired and now stressed. They then insisted on holding my daughter’s passport ( as though we would pay to stay in a hotel for four nights and run away after one night). That act alone was INSULTING!. First thing in the morning they kept calling to ask for an extra €48 to let my kid stay. Please note that on the trip.com site it says kids under 12 stay for free and the room was large enough for two adults and a child. There was a sofa bed. Clearly this €48 was more important to them than courtesy. There were better ways to handle this. The money was paid by me. I was very very displeased.

The hotel is very good. The family room is very large. There is a sofa bed or even a double bed. The ventilation is not very good and the air conditioning is not very good. It is very hot.

The hotel is located in the beautiful district of Santa Ponsa - mountains, greenery, sea. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony. Quiet area (you can sleep at night). The hotel has two swimming pools - one for adults and one for children, and there is animation. You can walk to the beach in 15-17 minutes. There are shops and cafes nearby. Of the minuses: no coffee machine 🥲 Payment on site/in cafes only by card. The bed linen smelled damp. If you leave the room, the refrigerator stops working (so ask for a second magnetic card, otherwise the food in the refrigerator will spoil).

Had the best holiday excellent hotel staff lovely and helpful , perfect hotel for family with kids was my sons 1st holiday abroad he had best time because of this hotel kids entertainment round the hotel was amazing Andre and the other girl went above and beyond for the kids . Food great and plenty of space around the pool sunbeds not overcrowded - 10 minute walk to the square and shops, 4 euros in a taxi to the main beach. Would highly recommend , rooms cleaned daily with clean towels if u want leave card on the door .

Arrived 3.30 in the morning with a very tired 5 year old slightly worried as they didn’t have are name on arrivals anyhow gave them the paperwork and finally sorted out Room we have was fine tuck a day or 2 to work out air con must stress that the pull out beds in bedroom and living room aren’t fit for adults also need to get the spare key form reception so you can leave electricity on so fridge doesn’t stop working To the pool couldn’t get the kids out of the small pool but sun bed and shade wars where a joke with people reserving them @ 9 and not returning until after dinner we ended up moving the umbrellas for shade big pool far to deep for the little ones and they had a mat out which which had older children and adults ran down I felt it so unsafe for younger children Both pools shut for around 6.30 bar was shut for 9 so no evening entertainment which was a shame there was very little kids club which was advertised when booking the hotel The area it self was great and very close to the square 5 mins walk beach around 10mins scenic route near main shop then down the slope turn left and follow the path lots of lovely eateries the garden is a must visit lovely food n staff Overall we had a fantastic stay front of house staff did a fantastic job working long hours in the Spanish heat

As someone who checked out this morning, I can only agree with the negative reviews of other people. There simply aren’t enough parasols, and during this heat wave that’s been a nightmare. Maybe it hasn’t been so bad in previous years because it hasn’t been so hot, but this year even people who love tanning needed some shade. Despite the complaints going back months on here (which we know they can see because they respond to some) no more parasols have been bought. Why not? So despite really really not wanting to, I joined the madness of towels out at 7am, because otherwise the kids would burn to a crisp. It’s made for a rotten holiday. And as someone who sits down there and reads, rather than heading back up, I can tell you that the sunbeds and the ground under them are filthy. They are not cleaned at all. The pool is, the area around the kids’ pool is, but around the adults pool you have the same bird poo, leaves, empty glasses, spilled drinks and bits of fruit that were there yesterday. Nobody cleans that. Not helping is the people who put towels down and then don’t appear until 3pm. I just took their parasols after a couple of hours on the days I hadn’t come down early enough to get one. More people should and it would stop them. I did tell the receptionist, who said she’d tell the pool staff to be more proactive, but nothing changed from their end. An otherwise nice little hotel, but we’d never return or recommend it solely due to the pool.

I don’t normally write reviews but this has to be the worst hotel I’ve stayed in the hotel staff apart from 1 lady was utterly rude we paid for a superior room when we we arrived are room wasn’t right so we asked to be moved then they charged us €140 , little girl come into the hotel with wet feet the man on reception screamed at her then the dad had something to say to him which any parent would then the man phoned the police to arrest him, the entertainment is none existent the bar shuts at 9 o clock at night then they literally switch the lights off all outside the hotel also the hotel is a cashless hotel which we wasn’t told so all are money we changed and brought we couldn’t spend in there then they had the cheek to start charging the people in the hotel for ice 50p ice cube I could go on and on about this hotel I would advise any1 to think twice before booking this hotel

All of the recent negative reviews you read are a true reflection of this hotel. Would not return or recommend. - There are NOT ENOUGH SUNBEDS for the amount of people staying in the hotel. Not sure the hotel has space for more to be honest but either way it’s a problem. We had to rely on the kindness of other guests on three occasions, and we were using two sunbeds for the five of us. Regularly seeing other families doing similar and trying to find at least one sunbed for them all. Whether towels are put down early to be reserved or not the actual problem is there just isn’t enough. Similarly with the parasols, never bothered us but if you are a family wanting shade you have no hope. - I had an awful experience with one of the bartenders. My son fell over around the pool, cut his lip and his ear so I went to the bar to ask for some ice. He refused unless I paid 50 cent for it. I explained repeatedly what had happened but he continued and asked me if I was staying at the hotel. I gave up and gave him the 50 cent but hotel does not accept cash and I didn’t have my card on me. In the end someone else paid it on their card with their bill for me as was probably fed up and knew I was getting no where. Awful. The sad thing is I think the bartender was just following instructions. I was told by the manager the bartender didn’t understand. He fully understood. - Another bad experience on check out. Asked for late check out as advertised in the room but not possible during high season at all. The explanation my husband received was a flat no as fully booked. Hotel has plenty of availability online. There was a queue of other families asking to do the same, all told the hotel is fully booked. It’s a lie and in the end I was told they need to keep the rooms clean for any last minute bookings. I even tried suggesting us paying to use a room for an hour as have had a similar system on other holidays, or coming back late afternoon to see if the last minute bookings had been made or the rooms still empty. I was told I wasn’t understanding. The hotel would have made a lot more money us all paying the charge for late check out compared to keeping the empty rooms, yes I checked they were never sold by our 7pm check out. - Room / Aircon smells of sewage the whole time - Cleaning standards of the hotel room not great. They do come daily but our room wasn’t actually cleaned during our stay, daily they make the beds and change over towels. I guess the positive is you aren’t woken up by moving furniture like you would be from other hotels when they clean/mop the floors as they don’t. - Animation team lacks animation, don’t encourage guests to join in and mini disco happened twice in the seven nights we stayed there. Shame during high season as a hotel full of children. If you are wanting a hotel with the entertainment advertised this isn’t the hotel. The good atmosphere is created by the guests not the staff. -The main pool only a third of the pool is actually us

Just finished a week with my extended family of 23, I personally dont have a negative word to say about this hotel, we were treated so well by the staff, we all slept well, food was excellent. I would like to single out Cris on reception, brilliant at her job and a wee dote.

Lovely Hotel, great vibe, but absolutely disgraceful staff who ruined my holiday on day 2 by calling the police because my young children (9 years old) walked through reception with wet feet. I was verbally abused by the reception staff and then threatened with arrest in front of everyone. DO NOT STAY HERE

We stayed here in July as a family of 5 in a one bedroom apartment. Positives were : Extremely clean & well maintained Hotel Snack / Bar staff exceptional- always smiling & work hard Food very good for breakfast or lunch & reasonably priced Great sized pool plus separate kids pool Pool tables, table tennis, kids park & football pitches Great sized apartments Quiet location but within walking distance to bars / restaurants Negatives are: Not enough umbrellas at main pool which caused some unnecessary arguments Inconsistent life guard rules with floaties in main pool Animation team could be more encouraging with guests to attend events & therefore on occasions no events took place like mini disco No entertainment at night & pool bar closes too early even though there’s a great entertainment room & outdoor snack bar If you’re looking for a good value Hotel / Apartment in Santa Ponca then i would recommend. I would’ve given 5 if the negatives above could be overcome. Huge call out again to bar / snack bar staff 🙌🏻

Currently staying here as a family of 5 with a 5, 9 and 10 year old and must say it’s been overal very disappointing. If you have young children you definately do not want to waste your hard earned thousands here. There is absolutely zero entertainment for the kids. It says there is a full animation team. This consists of aqua aerobics, a floating Matt to run on in the pool, then pass the ball round the pool and water polo. Every single day. Kids club has a bout 3 kids painting tee shirts everyday which I believe cost 7 euros to participate. There is NO MINI KIDS DISCO. Which is absolutely criminal for me, it states kids mini disco every night at 6pm. Unfortunately pool closes at 6, Bar closes at 7 and then it’s a ghost hotel. No night time entertainment at all. You have to walk to the square or Santa Ponsa after this and there is just over expensive shops selling tat and thousands of Irish bars with nothing to do for children. Managed to find one thing for them to do at Barcode 7, a good little place with fun things for kids to do. If you go self catering be prepared to spend 80 euros on 5 pieces of ham, cheese, baguette and water from local shops. Packet of crips nearly 4 euros. Hotel is clean and with very pleasant staff, but incorrectly labelled as a family hotel. We are honestly really easy going people, haven’t even complained about the ants in our room as there’s bigger things in life to be concerned with. But it’s been a huge struggle to keep the kids entertained and to find things to do as a family. It’s been pretty painful. There are thousands of better options, hopefully this honest review will save other families from spending thousands on somewhere that you’ll in the end enjoy just being away but be left feeling you’d made a huge mistake as it just lacks the basics needed for a fun family holiday.

Just Back from 8 night stay at this hotel, Spotless Clean, Really Spacious and Staff were very friendly. Food at the poolside Bar was a bit pricy and if I were to fault anything is that the entertainment was aimed at the toddlers. Could do with activities aimed at 9-14 year olds ie football/ table tennis , darts etc only water slide and water polo but no real encouragement from the staff for this age group to join in
