The room is actually better than the photos. The layout is very reasonable and the facilities are very new. The hygiene is very clean and the management is very good. It is very quiet to sleep at night. The pillow is especially comfortable. I slept well all night. The landlord is very reliable. Every time I contact him, he will reply in seconds. I will buy a homestay again. After all, I chose a homestay for several days, and I was not disappointed. I went into the house and checked it out. There was no flaw. I gave a thumbs up to the cleaning staff and the landlord. It is really suitable to live with children and parents. The brother at the front desk upgraded us. We originally booked two bedrooms and one living room, but it was upgraded to three bedrooms. It’s great. It’s suitable for a whole family to live together. It’s really comfortable to live in and extend the room. I will recommend it to my friends. The children and parents love it😘^_^

I recently traveled solo to Hainan and had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. My room was spacious with a large bathtub and offered a stunning view.
As a foreigner, navigating without Google Maps can be challenging, but the hotel staff, particularly Perou Zhang, were incredibly helpful. She assisted me with hotel facilities, booked the shuttle for me, and recommended nearby tourist spots. Her excellent English and friendly demeanor made my stay absolutely perfect.
I highly recommend this hotel for their outstanding service and hospitality.

Rooms is ok. Nice balcony with good view. Many outlets like adidas Nike polo and others. Few swimming pools but when we stay in hotel 2 days they clean it. Water park is old and small but ok if for free. Street food very good, many styles of food and good beer restaurant about 20-30 different type of beer. Breakfast so so. For 5 star hotel not good.

The Golden Phoenix Sea View Hotel (Sanya Jinfenghuang Haijing Jiudian) is a short walk from Sanya's seaside street and sandy beach. The maize colored building is in great contrast to the red roof. Balconies of all rooms throw in stunning view over the azure sea. The Western restaurant is a good spot to soak up some sea views while enjoying your meals. Diners can also have the barbecue on the lawn. Guests have a myriad of fun activities to pass the time such as bicycling, beach volleyball, swimming, sauna and massage.

Great hotel. Across the street from the beach. It's family friendly, and you've got a lot of things for kids. The only thing that is a bit bad is the shape of the hotel. If you take a room with a view it will probably face the pool and the other wing of the hotel, so basically everybody from the other side can see you. So it kinda lacks privacy, but it's great! 🙃 Also, it is a bit noisy sometimes, there is a construction site across the street, but it's really not that bad. Overall, I recommend it primarily to families and everybody else surely won't regret. Needless to say that everything was nice and great. The staff barely speaks English, but they're using the translation app to communicate and they are very helpful.

Hotel was amazing with a great sea view out of the balcony. Bathtub on the balcony was a great touch too! Disadvantages: There is a musty smell when entering the door (not a big deal). The quilt is a bit itchy when covered. Some corners of the bed are not cleaned properly.
Pros: The room is very large and the price is very cost-effective in the off-season. You can see the sea. Although the color scheme is a bit old-fashioned, the actual items are very stylish.
No merits or demerits: The breakfast is average

Sara was assigned to help us during our 2 night stay. She is efficient and very helpful as she was answering all my questions before and during the trip from transportation to places to visit in sanya, to weather. We booked a family suite for the trip and the room was huge and spacious, with an ocean facing view. I can even see the lights on the tower near phoenix island from the living room. Our stay was comfortable and it really made me feel at ease. The pool was awesome and there was even an arcade in the hotel.
There were only two things to improve - food and bed. Buffet breakfast and BBQ dinner, there were a few hits and misses in terms of taste and our bed was a little too hard for our back but hey we can ask for diff types of pillow so plus minus. Overall I will recommend this hotel to relax and chill.
Last thing to note for foreigners, if your return flight is at the international airport instead of domestic to other parts of china, don't bother going to cdf. You can't buy anything as there is no collection counter in the international airport. We didn't know and wasted four hours at cdf.

This hotel gives off a friendly vibe and you can definitely feel the family atmosphere. The overall stay was pleasant, the view from the hotel room was beautiful, however the room smelled a little bit of mold because of the humidity the first days. The service is a little lacking especially for foreigners. One of the reasons why we chose this hotel, for it mentions having English speaking staff but during our stay unfortunately the staff struggled to communicate with us and that led to some mishappenings and we couldn’t enjoy everything that was included in our package.

SSamuel BarryService was fantastic, hotel wasn't for me because I'm a solo traveller and the hotel is more for families. If you are a family definitely stay at this hotel as it is amazing for young children! Food was excellent, location was a little far from the main town of Sanya. Would have liked more beach chair options. The gym was fantastic and staff were very helpful. Fantastic trip all together.
LLauritaFirst day check-in was a bit tough as I arrived early in the morning. Room was ready 2 PM.
Room didn’t meet my “clean” expectation, so I had to ask for second round of cleaning. I understand it was busy weekend & so many guests to take care of.
For this part, Manager Davidson Dong was very helpful!
I got room cleaned around 7 PM and he helped me using the Club Lounge in the mean time.
Because the trip is for my birthday, the hotel also provided birthday cake & the rose bed.
Hotel gym was nice & spacious - but didn’t have smith machine.
Beach seems like ‘not’ private exclusive beach - without sun bed - but public without lifeguard.
I could fly a drone at the beach, but not in the garden of the hotel - for guest privacy reasons.
Overall, it was an amazing experience here at Grand Hyatt.
Thank you.
DDani-loGood:
- Beautiful sea-view room with a wonderful panoramic window.
- Lovely tropical gardens.
- Great swimming pool with lots of shaded areas and a transparent kayak.
- Lovely beach with loungers, sunshades and basic amenities (lemonade, towels, beach toys).
- Awesome night views.
- Amazing open-air aquarium with exotic fish and turtles.
- Great amenities for kids (electric vehicles, train, pedal karts, swimming pool floats and boats).
- Friendly and helpful staff.
- Great location near CDF mall.
- Really good breakfast.
Bad:
- I received a significant electric shock just by touching the front tray of the children’s popcorn machine at breakfast. I immediately informed a member of staff whose response made me feel this was not the first time it had happened. They switched off the popcorn machine and said somebody would fix it. 10mins later we saw the machine was switched on again (the staff member said it was fixed).
- The security chain on the door to our room locked itself from the inside after we left the room, so we could not get in when we got back. Had to wait 15-20min for staff to open the chain from the outside, then had to wait another 30-40min for a repairman to replace the old/faulty chain lock - this took a while because the new hardware did not fit properly and the door could not be closed (it was fixed with some loud hammering). The next day, the door couldn’t close again so I had to again wait for a repairman to fix it (more loud hammering).
- A few times we had no response when calling “instant service” on the phone. The WeChat service was also sometimes slower than we’d expected, especially for urgent questions.
- Tired and worn out exterior and interior decoration (faded/peeling paint, damp patches).
- Wobbly fixings (balcony light, toilet paper holder).
- Confusing A/C controls (two control panels, no indication what each one is for)
- Live music started quite late and was loud - we had to close balcony door to let our child sleep.
- Transparent doors to the shower and toilet cubicles.
- Inconsistent service at breakfast (some days very attentive, some days not so).
- No good value lunch or dinner options. I tried a room service salad which was terrible (it used canned beans, canned corn and canned chickpeas, and processed roast chicken) - surprisingly bad value and quality.
- One evening our taxi was not permitted to enter the hotel grounds due to a special event. We had to walk up the long driveway with our (tired) young daughter….it would have been nice for the hotel to offer their electric buggy shuttle from the main road to the lobby.
- After the trip, I received an email with a link to the bill, but this link took me to a web page which said an online bill was unavailable.
Sswee huatHad a great experience with my family. We spend 2 nights here.
We check in and well greeted at the VIP lounge by the staff .Simran Ghimire was assigned as our personal concierge throughout the stay. We really didn't expect that. She escorted us to our room and gave us an introduction to the room and information of the hotel activities and facilities of the hotel . Very prompt with getting back on our request and enquiry. She gets back information and answers fast and efficiently.
The room was cleaned , spacious with beautiful sunrise and sunset, seaside beach view, and mountain view.
The hotel linked to the lost chamber aquarium that has a lot of variety of fishes and loved the beluga dance show .
There were foc children play area for hotel guest . Restaurants and foodcourt linked to the hotel as well and led to the waterpark .
Outdoor Swimming pool led to the beach , they provide some sand toys too .just returned it after use at the gate.
Breakfast was exceeded my expectations, good spread of Western and Chinese food . Lounge excess and food were nice with beautiful view.
Simran was also very sweet , checked on our well-being, and was even very thoughtful of preparing small gifts for my 2 boys during our departure.they loved it very much !
Overall , it was a great experience. Thank you!
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is beautifully located, but getting there was a bit complicated. The taxi driver dropped us off at the entrance gate of Yalong Park, and we had difficulty reaching the hotel. Despite sending an email in advance asking for the WeChat contact, we received no response. We only managed to reach the hotel by phone with the help of a kind lady at the entrance, who arranged for our luggage to be picked up at the park gate.
The room (Peacock villa nr. 5017) was truly beautiful and worth seeing, simply wonderful. It was also very clean, and the air conditioning was strong and effective. We dined at the Thai restaurant, but the dishes had a strong Chinese influence, which might not appeal to all Western guests. Unfortunately, the Western restaurant was closed during our stay.
We were transported to the various attractions in the park by a VIP shuttle bus. Leo provided us with his WeChat contact, which made exploring the park possible despite our lack of Chinese language skills. English is not spoken at the hotel, which made communication challenging. Leo had to send us the tickets for the attractions via WeChat, which was a bit complicated. It would have been more convenient if the tickets were provided at check-in.
Overall, the hotel is truly worth seeing, but one night is sufficient in our opinion. Checking out was also hassle-free, but the 1000 RMB deposit was only refunded upon request.
We particularly want to thank Leo for his exceptional efforts in ensuring we had a wonderful stay. His assistance was invaluable and greatly enhanced our experience.
In summary, a beautiful hotel with some logistical challenges, but definitely worth a visit.

The resort itself is fantastic, with incredible swimming pools that are perfect for families. They had fun foam parties for the kids every single day, which they absolutely loved. The beach is just a short walk across the street, providing easy access to the beautiful ocean.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. We felt right at home during our stay. The resort grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere.
The amenities, activities, and customer service at Ocean Sonic Resort are top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better family vacation spot. We'll definitely be returning in the future!

MMegan_CohenThe hotel is situated in a very touristy area. Many Russian-speaking tourists. There is a mall by the hotel and a food court area across the street, the beach is within walking distance. The room was clean it came with basic amenities, I would take an extension lead to charge multiple devices. The elevators are very slow and if you want to relax by the pool and find a place to sit you need to go early as the seats get taken fast. The gym area has enough equipment to get the job done. Check-in and check-out were very fast, we had no problems. If you cannot speak Chinese they will translate. There were a few rude entitled tourists. Be courteous and respectful to the workers and people trying to help, and make an effort to use their language either via a translation app or learn a few words. You will see the instant appreciation and respect for trying. If you go to the front of the pineapple and walk left for about 5/10min you can find some Western restaurants called the Dolphin, Little India and an Italian place. If you want coffee early in the morning there is a Starbucks on that same road that opens at 7:00 am. Overall it was a good stay for a business trip with no issues.
GGuest UserThis was our first time in this hotel and we enjoyed a lot! The staff is really kind. Apple could speak English and she offered an upgrade for the room during check in. The view was amazing. But especially Beck helped us a lot, resolving all our doubts or questions. He was great for us to spend a great time. The breakfast at the hotel is really good, with a lot of options ( noodles, guangdong steam, a bakery room…). The hotel has 4-5 pools, one of them with slides. And there was a foam show everyday 17-18h. The beach , 5 minutes walking was wonderful: clean, almost empty. What we also liked was all the plants around the hotel. There were also a hainan restaurant and Chongqing hotpot. We are looking forwards to come back very soon! We loved this hotel!
AAlexandra May Pickett This has been my third trip to Sanya and I must say this hotel left a lot to be desired. My personal goal for choosing this hotel was A. Trip.com is still using great photos of the place that sold that island retreat to me and B. to have the resort vibe where I would not have to leave the comforts unless it was for a good reason. However on arrival and inspection my husband and I quickly realized we would be seeing a lot more of Yalong Bay than we had planned with almost every meal being eaten at other hotels with much less of an “off season “ vibe. The location is great and accessible to the beach but the hotel boasts pools(more than 1 being important) however on inspection only the kiddie pool and half of the main pool were allowed to be used. The pool in front of the McDonalds was semi drained and cornered off despite staff members cleaning in it as if it were being used. The main pool divided up into 4 areas was also not in full use with the entire right side being forbidden. Many of the other pool like areas that originally had been marked as swimming areas also had signs up saying it was a “landscaping pool - do not enter”. Another unsettling part is the incessant douyin content creators who set up camp at the stairs of the only usable pool to film the general area and talk all day in shifts with no real consequence or idea of privacy.
As for dining the “western style dining” was definitely not catering to westerners unless you count rubbery eggs and dry bacon with a side of rotisserie corn sausage as a “full English” the dining hall itself is in two areas indoor (with broken upholstery and exceptionally dirty flooring) and outside with chairs that resemble public swimming pool seating in the 80s with a dose of tetanus on the legs. The evening dining is also something to be avoided if you have no way of understanding Chinese or do not wish to get food poisoning since meat is kept outside in dishes for you to choose your own BBQ options while no regard for cross contamination or food allergies are applied.
The hotel rooms themselves were the redeeming feature of this hotel with daily cleaning and good views of the mountain and ocean depending on your choice of room when booking. It is also worth noting there is no room service but there are very convenient meituan drop boxes located outside the hotel lobby. Cleaning staff were super friendly and other hotel staff seemed to be divided into “older” and “younger” the younger of the bunch being much more helpful and more recognizable as people working in the hospitality industry.
Other amenities such as the spa (was not occupied and not on offer) and the gym was well equipped however some machines were of the older more unreliable variety and with no working air conditioning you could potentially be working out in a sauna.
On arrival you are offered a complementary coupon for one afternoon tea set, the pictures used for advertising this special offer are unfortunately false advertising. With an odd assortment of savory and sweet cookies and snacks it was anything other than something I would purchase myself.
Our first impression was that the hotel was in an “off season” but on closer examination of hotels in the surrounding area we found other hotels to have daily scheduled activities, full use of amenities and to be run by actual hospitality staff and not by untrained locals like the LAN Sanya - ocean view resort.
Unfortunately this hotel would get a 10/10 would not recommend to foreigners and would not book again from me.

JJulie NathalieFifth time choosing this hotel while traveling to Sanya, used to come with friends, and now for business trips. The hotel has changed a lot over the years, and it was kinda going very low quality in terms of amenities and services few months ago. But they have made recent improvements, like the wooden deck that finally had been renovated and look nice and clean now. I was disappointed at first at my arrival since the staff was not welcoming at all, not even smiling or helping with luggages, but then Johnson took over and has been amazingly helpful! His English was great, and he upgraded my room for one with the nicest view over the pool and bay, which was really appreciated. Amber at the reception has also been a great host, great English and attitude, she helped me with my late check out. These two really made my stay better. Overall this hotel is always a good and quiet choice. Sadly they removed their western food options for the restaurant and room service, so not ideal for foreigners. But breakfast is good and got all the options. I’ll definitely come back, since to me it’s still one of the most beautiful hotel in the area, but hoping for some more improvements to take it back to the level it used to be.
