The local ingredients used for dinner are mainly mountain delicacies, and the freshly fried tempura is delicious. If you are looking for cost-effectiveness, this is recommended.

The hotel is right at Kakunodate Station, just half a minute's walk from the station, which is very convenient. The food in the hotel was delicious. We had dinner and breakfast. It feels very good to sit in the restaurant and have breakfast early in the morning, looking out the window at the quiet station in the early morning. The hotel room is not big. From Kakunodate Station, you can take the Akita Inland Line train north. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and you can just take the train to Aniga Station, otherwise the journey will be too long.

The large public bath is a natural hot spring. The interior is beautiful. It's far from the station, but if you contact the hotel by 5pm the day before your stay, they will pick you up from Tazawako Station for free. The buffet is interesting as it uses many locally produced ingredients. And yet the price is reasonable and it was great value for money! The negative points are: 1. The toilet and sink in the room are small, 2. There was no sea bream at the buffet venue, even though it was called ”celebratory food,” there were few vegetables, and the staff was not very communicative (foreigners. It's not bad, but I wish they would be more polite), and 3. The men's open-air bath is in a detached building and is cold in winter. I took those points off my rating.

It is a small hotel with less than 10 rooms run by an old man, a little girl, and 2 male employees. I think the private soup that no one goes to is worth 1,000 yuan. Accommodation and food are provided for free 😂 If you drive by yourself, I think you can have breakfast and dinner here and stay at Taze Lake Hot Spring Resort Hotel. Although the hot spring there is a mess, it is a normal hotel room with good sound insulation. There is a toilet in the room, so you don't have to go out to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
