Dongdaemun Karrot Hostel

The receptionist was very friendly and the hotel was in a good location, so it was great! It takes a bit of skill to open and close the door.

The entrance is really hard to find, but look for the carrot sign. The hotel is like a boarding house and the beds are hard, but the location is really great! It's close to the station, so I recommend it for those who want to go to Dongdaemun or Soba noodles at night! The staff were also very friendly◎

The location was good, close to Jongno 5-ga Station and Dongdaemun Exit 9. The hotel's location was a little difficult to find, but it was very close to Dongdaemun Dakgalbi Street. The room was spacious and there was plenty of room for two suitcases. However, on the first day, the heating didn't work, the front desk was not there, and there was no reply to my LINE or Katok messages, so I slept in the cold, bundled up in my clothes. The next day, they replied and responded immediately. There was an ondol heater, so it was very warm. The front desk staff was better at Japanese than Korean. It was very helpful. There is no partition between the shower room and the toilet, but it is spacious so it doesn't bother me. All the amenities are provided, but there is no toothbrush. The washing machine is free, but detergent is purchased. There is a water server, so water is not an issue. There was also a microwave. There were also many outlets. The downside is that the walls in the room are thin. On the first day, I could hear singing from a nearby karaoke until late at night.

This hostel was renovated from a former motel. Get off the airport bus at Jongno 6-ga, walk in the direction of the bus, and you will see an LG shop. Turn right there, then turn left into the first alley and go through the pink shop to find the hostel. It's close to the bus stop. The room wasn't that big, but it was reasonably clean. The shower and toilet are the same as in Korea, but the space is spacious, so it's not a problem. The shower water pressure is pretty good! The hot water comes out properly! The drainage is good too! Towels are in the room, but you can get them yourself from the first floor if you need them. There is a hair dryer in the room. The front desk is not staffed 24 hours a day, but there is always someone there during the day. Gina speaks fluent Japanese, and there is also someone who speaks English. The owner is Korean, but he can speak Korean, English, Chinese, and basic Japanese. I don't recommend this place to people who are used to staying in hotels, but if you are somewhat familiar with Korea and have stayed in hostels or guest houses, you should be able to stay there without any problems.

Good accommodation not far from metro station exit 8. Good price.
