Hotel Serpiano

Cela fait pas mal d'années que nous retournons périodiquement à l'hôtel Serpiano. Quel joli cadre, quelles magnifiques vues sur les montagnes, le lac, les champs alentours, c'est vraiment merveilleux. Il est possible de descendre au bord du lac, des descentes exigeantes, ou de randonner sur les chemins environnants ou jusque sur le mont San Giorgio (ceux ou celles qui font cette ascension s'en souviennent longtemps !). Dans les chambres situées dans la partie spa et piscine où nous avons maintenant l'habitude d'aller on regrettera la simple séparation en verre dépoli qui se trouve entre chaque chambre. L'avant dernière fois nous avons dégusté un hôte qui ronflait la nuit sur le balcon. Sans doute sa femme n'a-t-elle plus voulu qu'il dorme dans la chambre ? Il y a aussi toujours des indélicats qui parlent forts tôt le matin sur leur terrasse, et tout le monde en profite. Sinon nous avons apprécié le confort des lits, la piscine et la cuisine proposée le soir: de délicieux mets, mais sans porc (?). Le personnel est sympathique, aimable, serviable, parfait. Un sérieux bémol sur le petit déjeuner: les soi-disants jus de pamplemousse ou d'orange sont imbuvables, des boissons chimiques pas du vrai jus ! Quant au café, il y a mieux, vraiment mieux. Et nous avons été choqués par le comportement de certains groupes arrivés en car, lors du petit déjeuner : on prend plusieurs beurres sur la table, plusieurs boissons, du pain, des croissants et on laisse les 3/4. Sans parler de l'état des tables. Dommage. Cela dit merci à toute l'équipe de l'hôtel nous apprécions y venir et revenir.

Ci teniamo a ringraziare di cuore tutto il Team Serpiano per aver reso il nostro matrimonio perfetto e indimenticabile. La location ha una vista mozzafiato! L’aperitivo e la cena hanno ricevuto i complimenti da tutti gli invitati per quanto è stato tutto squisito. Chef super preparato alle esigenze degli invitati (allergie, particolarità,…). Linda e Mario ci avete accompagnati e supportati a 360 gradi. L’enorme passione e l’attenzione ad ogni piccolo dettaglio vi contraddistinguono. Non ci sono parole che possano descrivere la nostra immensa gratitudine. Grazie di cuore e un abbraccio forte. Torneremo sicuramente per ricordare il giorno più bello della nostra vita!

The hotel is very quiet and beautifully situated in the middle of nature. A walk up Monte San Giorgio is definitely worth it, especially because of the phenomenal view. The hotel was not fully booked during our stay and that certainly contributed to our positive impression. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception even spoke Swiss German. We were able to relax and unwind wonderfully in the wellness area after the day trips. The comfort room was very nicely furnished and you could enjoy the sunset on the balcony. The beds are good and we slept well. The room was always clean. The restaurant is very stylishly furnished and you feel comfortable. The breakfast buffet was extensive and was always replenished. Only the cheese selection is very modest. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We were always able to eat right by the window with a view of the mountains. We would love to come back.

The view is the absolute USP. The rest is okay to OK. The hotel is reminiscent of the former spa. It is very clean, the cleaning fairies are constantly on the job. We ate in the restaurant once. I had the herbal lasage and it was disappointing (crispy, dry and very bland). The service was rather disinterested. The breakfast staff, on the other hand, were super nice. Wellness is too big a word for the swimming pool, the hydromassage pool and the sauna. I found the relaxation areas to be rather cold and uncomfortable.

Two years ago I went for the first time and found peace, rest, excellent food and extreme kindness, as well as space views. I hope to come back soon. An unforgettable experience, to be recommended to everyone. Being pampered in a location like this is everyone's dream.
