The host is nice. The hotel is very basic. Soundproof system is not as good because theres alot of different noises coming from the streets and corridor and upstairs. The location is up on the hill, which is abit difficult to climb at high altitude.

The room was so clean when I stayed there and the owner she took care of us very good. And also if who comes to stay at here I would like to recommend her homemade hotpot. All ingredients selected by her and taste was so wonderful beef flavor full on my mouth. You must try!!!!!!!

I had a great stay! The highlight for me was the heated bed so I slept well! Claudia help me with everything I need during my stay in Shangri-La. They picked me up and help me with my bags. Though there were some issues with the hotel that’s out of the hotels’ control they made sure that I have a great stay.

The best stay ever! Not only the hotel is clean and located in peaceful area(but the very close to the center), but also the owner is the coolest woman with great hospitality and great mind I’ve ever met. She kindly took me to local places, recommended some good hiking routes, even prepared for breakfast and snacks! Her story was truly inspiring and it’s the voice to be heard. She speaks good English and helped me a lot to understand the region and ******* culture. I strongly recommend this hotel and do hope that many people have a chance to be part of the community she is cultivating!

She is a Shanghai lady who has lived in the pastoral area for a long time, so I always call her the Shanghai boss. But later I slowly discovered that the specialness of Kuozhe is largely due to this "special" boss. She does not provide guests with disposable toiletries. Because she said that one day she will make a real zero-waste inn. (⚠️Of course, if everyone does not bring toiletries, the inn still has disposable ones. But if you don't use disposable items, the boss will give a small gift🎁). She is also always "meticulous" - about her dishes and room hygiene (it really deepened my "stereotype" of Shanghai people). The soup made from the yak meat and bones shipped from the Qinghai pastoral area makes the Shanghai boss particularly confident about her yak hot pot.
