Orange Homestay is an excellent accommodation and is above Frank motors (Tata motors dealer). The rooms are spacious and very clean. The terrace is awesome as they have many flowering plants which are blooming. The food is also good but at times the wait time is more. The staff are very helpful and service oriented. They don't expect Tips. Very polite and well mannered. Breakfast options are limited but serving is generous and unlimited. There is only 1 chef and he arrives around 7 am. So the earliest you can expect the Breakfast is at 7:30 am. It would be either of Poori or Bhature or Aloo Paratha ***** with bread toast and bread sandwich. Whatever they cook is tasty. Coming to the drawbacks. 1) No lift. If you get room at 3rd floor then it will be difficult for elderly 2) The accommodation is on Laitmor/Mawblei main road which is always busy and very noisy. Sleeping in the night will be slightly difficult due to the vehicles making noise. 3) Very far away from Police bazaar. You need at least 1 hour by car to reach police bazaar though the distance is only 6 kms. Shillong traffic is pathetic. Taxi guys fleece you. It costed us 400 to come from Police Bazar to Orange homestay. There is no car parking as well at Police bazaar. So if you are keen to spend time on shopping then Orange homestay may not be the right place. We stayed in room 111 at 3rd floor and the room is massive in size. Very thoughtfully stocked with hot packs, geyser, Air conditioning which can also double up as heater, extra blankets etc.

The hotel is excellent. Staff behaviour is awesome and they are very helpful people. Restaurant ***** with the hotel is too good and most important part is everything in the hotel and its restaurant is clean. Also the fresh food has been served always. Overall experience is excellent.

A perfect place to stay with friends/family/couples. The property has 3 wings- heritage, forest and valley wing. We stayed in the valley wing. The rooms were small but cozy with a touch of royalty. The view of the city is amazing, especially at night, when city is all lit up. Some rooms have a balcony with is spacious and beautiful. The entire property is well maintained. It definitely provides you a feel of the historic past it beholds. They have designated breakfast and dinner areas in the different wings making sure that guests don't miss out on the heritage and royalty. Orchids and pine trees enhance its beauty. The significance of the horse shoe shaped entrance, the historic importance of different blocks, old photographs take you down the memory lane. The hospitality and food are good. Staff is very courteous. Ambience is great.It lives upto its name.

This is a simple, clean and quiet place to stay at while at Shillong. The rooms are large enough for a couple. The property is in a quieter part of the town. The staff at the reception, are friendly and efficient. The only area for improvement is breakfast. It is too simple. If they could add some fruit to begin with, it would make a big difference.

Vivanta Shillong, was centrally located and well maintained property. The external beauty was mediocre and so is the plan of each room with oddly shaped floor space. Just ignore these, the stay was full of warmth which Taj has patent so well in the last few years. The staff took care to beautify the room on the occasion of birth day of my life partner during the stay. We felt a bit abashed, with the overwhelming care shown by the Chef Hazarika and Fredrick, the officer in charge at the Mynt - dining facility. Both ensured that our fascination for local fare is well addressed with details and improvising the same to suit our tastebuds. Guys, you made our stay to linger for time to come. Our trips to local tourist spots was marred with bad roads, bad upkeep and above all little interest shown to attract tourists - be it Dawki river or Elephant falls or the clean village at Mawlynnong!! If we enjoyed our 4 day Meghalaya trip, it is only the time spent within the portals of Vivanta!!

Great location, great food, clean and incredible staff. They made our stay very much comfortable and memorable. Food is really superb they have a pure vegetarian restaurant, must try their indian cuisine special dal makhani, aloo dum. Most recommended places to visit and stay in shillong.

The hotel should be a famous hotel in the local area! However, it is incomparable with the domestic 4 star hotel. The first hotel is relatively old, and the second hotel's supplies are relatively inferior. Only the staff are still pretty good, attitude is good, only live for one day, so in addition to feeling expensive, feeling worthwhile, the mood is not too bad! One night of transition, nothing to worry about!

Chandan, Natasha, Kumar, Manlih and the whole entire staff team were out of this world…no words are enough to say how great the staff and hotel was. I honestly felt that the level of service and hotel was much higher than a ‘Courtyard’ brand. Food was really good too.
