Hotels near Kurofune Observatory, Shimoda

I dont usually write about the places I stayed to but I just thought this one deserve a review.. also to help others who is thinking of booking this villa but having second thought just like me since it doesnt provide much photos. Im a kind of person who gather information first before making decision... with this one i cant get that much info or review but book it anyway since it is only for a 1 night stay.. so we stayed there for a night and i must say my family and I loves the room we stayed too. aside from the clean room, the man who assist us was really nice up until we check out and waited until we go.. wave goodbye at us and my kids wave back to him and they were smiling... felt like u just went to a family vacation house and a family is waving bye at u saying see u soon... but anyway this is my review... dont get discourage by the apperance of the outside & the lobby it may not look fancy but for us it looks fine I provided some photos... anyway when we get to the room I was amazed because its very clean and spacious it felt like it is more than what I paid for. I didnt expect too much because I know I chose the cheapest place that I can book since we just need a place to rest after beach and before a long drive the next day but it exceeded my expectation... their very generous with their amenities they have instant coffee and electric kettle, theres also a fridge where you can put your food, with us what we did is we already brought some food so we dont need to buy outside after beach because there is no restaurant close to the villa but if u didn’t brought food there is a close convenient store at shirahama beach where you can buy food and bring it at the villa they have table and couch too inside the room... oh I love the shampoo and conditioner the brand is shisheido (so generous) the bottles were big that even you stay for a week it will be enough they provide shaver, toothbrush and toothpaste too and the towels are white/clean... I love everything about this place the only negative thing I can say is that the top part of the shower curtain has little mold but we didn’t mind since the shower curtain is clean just only the top part maybe because its not new but like i said we didnt mind, because bathroom is so clean... Were planning to go back shimoda again next year since 1 day is not enough to explore it and we will definitely book this place again... thanks again to the man who assisted us. He is so nice...

The property has amazing ocean views high on an outcropping, but none of the rooms with an ocean view have a balcony, except the very edge of the east wing. Wonderful gardens with a path lading down to a small beach that isn't too noteworthy. The rooms have been updated since the construction and are pretty good overall. The pool was closed in June, which was pretty disappointing, especially as the beach is below par. The onsen facilities met expectation. The beds are firm, which I loved, but not everyone likes a firm mattress. The hotel operates a bus service to pick up guests from the train station twice an hour from 9-5pm. If you are doing dinner out in the town or drinks in the evening, you have to grab a taxi back as the walk is a bit of a hike. The hotel staff are very friendly and kind, the concierge knows the area and has great recommendation for activities...wonderful and friendly people. The hotel restaurant serves a nice mostly Japanese breakfast (as expected) with local delicacies, wide range of teas, coffee and juice as well as a great selection of breads and fresh fruit. The hotel restaurant for dinner is average. Our group ordered a range of items off the menu and no one was terribly impressed. The lone stand out was the French Onion soup, packed with flavor, though a bit light on the cheese. Would stay here again if the price was right, was able to get rooms at a discount on this stay as it was rainy season.

The garden villa has several types of accommodation: rooms in the main house with or without views of the ocean and independent apartments. The hotel is a very nice hotel, and the hotel is a very nice hotel. The location is on a hill, near the beach of Shiharama where surfers give RV. The hotel has a strict and restricted breakfast schedule: 8H-8H30... maybe because we were out of season? The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.

The bedding in the Japanese room was thick and the family's reputation was good. It was a pity that there was no sauna in the public bath, but it was a hot spring, so I am satisfied. The sound of the waves erased the noise and became a deep sleep, which was the best for me personally. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variations, and there is a paper cup for takeout, so you can get a glimpse of the efforts to increase customer satisfaction in 々. I would like to visit in the summer, hoping that the staff response quality is good during the busy period.

Overall great, good onsen. But the bathroom facilities in the room are old, the water temperature is not enough, the shower cannot be used, and the toilet is still the old one. A room near the sea, but due to the orientation, I can't watch the sunrise, which is a pity. There are no supporting facilities nearby. It takes 20 minutes to go to the nearest 711. The breakfast and dinner are good, and the service is good.

This used to be our favorite summer spot. We'd return at least once a year, for perhaps 4-5 years in a row. However, we hadn't been back for quite a long time. This is what I learned on our most recent visit: The hotel room (I think we had a ”Hollywood Standard Twin) was quite spacious. The beds were large and comfortable, and there is a nice-sized balcony with a generous ocean view. I see some other reviews on Tripadvisor calling the rooms ”old and smelly” -- this has never, ever been my experience, not once. The room seemed exactly as it was over 10 years ago, but that's fine. The colors are soft, muted ”beach” colors and we were very comfortable. On our first night we ate at the ”Melesea” restaurant, which serves French cuisine. We chose the ”Demi portion” course, which was about 9,000 yen (about $62USD with today's exchange rate). We chose it because it wasn't as high priced as some of the other course meals and the portion sizes sounded right for us. There is no question that the ”Demi portion” course was one of the best I've ever had in my life. The chef (Mr. Ohki) is obviously a professional who really understands how to bring out the delicate flavors of any dish, and he is a master at preparing sauces. Everything that was served was outstanding. No, we didn't want to pay that much money per person, but ultimately we made the right choice. We both were extremely impressed. The above two things, plus generally good weather, added up to a good experience. Here, though, are things that you should be aware of: This is essentially a family hotel. That means if you are coming here for peace and quiet, and you make the mistake of coming on a weekend or a national holiday, you can expect lots of screaming children running with abandon down the hallways and fussing in the restaurants and everywhere else. Japanese parents tend to indulge and spoil their little ones. And forget about using the pool, since that's where parents will be staked out the first thing in the morning. If you are a parent, you might find this to be the perfect hotel. If you aren't, and you do not enjoy the boundless energy and noise of children, you will be sorry you booked a room here. So, think carefully about the dates you arrive and leave. As for prices: Although you can get a ”Tokyu Hotel” member card, and although you can find online promotions, the way the hotel makes its money is through its dinners. You are going to pay a lot for them, although there is effort put into them, so, you do feel you are having an ”experience.” But they do not come cheaply. Also, if you don't book your room with breakfast, expect to pay ¥2900 for a ”buffet breakfast.” If you are Japanese, you will love this breakfast; if not, you will find an adequate selection of items for a Western breakfast. But what if you want to go ”out to eat” at night, instead of paying between 10-20,000 yen for a meal? Good luck. Unless you have your own car (and I'd say about 90% of the customers

The staff was very nice from arrival to guidance. Stay for 1 night and 2 days at the 5F hot spring free-flowing open-air bath with a superb view Japanese modern ”Iki”. It has been renovated and the interior is perfect. The dinner was delicious, and the timing of serving the food was good and the explanation was polite. The baths are sufficient for both the room, the large public bath with a view, and the separate bath. As expected, I thought it was an inn that cost over 60,000 yen for two people... When I went to bed, there was a huge garbage near the outlet near the bedside! (When I was young, that black guy flew into my face and hit me, and I've been completely useless.) I tried to deal with him, but he disappeared. I stuck with it for over an hour, but I couldn't find it, so I gave up and went to bed, but I couldn't fall asleep. Pass through the bed and tatami mats as it is, climb up the roll curtain of the sash window and pause. It was after 3 o'clock in the middle of the night, but as expected, I contacted the front desk. A night watchman comes, but is handed insecticide. ”I (the customer) will exterminate it???” → ”Then, let's do it?” → ”Please (obviously!)” As expected, he couldn't kill him and the cockroach flew away... (my wife's scream), but I managed to crush him with a rolled up magazine... (madly absorbed). I didn't think it was the only one, so I couldn't sleep at all after all. (I didn't meet the second one) There was no contact from the inn even during normal business hours. Perhaps there was a message from the night watchman, but at breakfast and at the time of payment, some of the young staff members apologized (in the form) and folded a small amount of sweets after the payment. There was nothing from the inn's boss level, and I didn't feel any sincerity or gratitude, so I ended up leaving the young staff to deal with it... The details of the matter, thorough cleaning and disinfection, and a review of the response to the person in charge were written on the designated questionnaire form.

There are interesting and beautiful beach views in East Izumba where you can swim, soak in hot springs and enjoy a gourmet meal. My kids love the beach very much, I love the hotel, the waiters, especially Mr. Inari, who speaks very fluent English and is very helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the train station, which is very useful for guests with luggage considering the hilly terrain of the small town, and the hotel also offers enough bath towels, parasols and beach chairs to take to the beach across the street all day. There is also an outdoor small shower before returning to the hotel lobby, where you can wash the sand off your body first. The hotel lobby also provides sandals that can be taken to the beach. Although the sand on the beach is soft, it is very hot after the sun is shining, and slippers are very necessary. Each room has a stunning sea view, and there are plenty of food in the fridge, including bottled water and Asahi beer. Our meals are private dining, friendly, lovely waitress who can meet all our needs, serve us very professionally, and introduce us to Japanese dining etiquette. After we go to breakfast, the hotel attendants will come to our room, take the Japanese mattress away, and then set up the living area, and when we go to dinner, they will come and put the mattress for us. Every afternoon, we will prepare ice water and snacks. They don't mind us bringing sand back from the beach, but they will help us clean it up quickly. The hot springs are very beautiful, indoor and outdoor, both male and female, and you can see the seaside scenery. There is a convenience store next to the hotel where you can buy coffee, snacks and lunch. In the evening, you can set off fireworks by the sea and children can play video games. The whole community is very safe and is a local resident. It would be better if there was no online network in the room, but, in short, we could focus more on playing and resting without the network.

I used it for the first time at Go to. A courtesy bus will pick you up from the front of Atagawa Station, where you can check in before 3:00 pm and relax in your room. Welcome corner opens from 3:00 pm Soft drinks, hot spring steamed buns, oden, sparkling wine, beer, sake, and fruit wine are prepared. Dinner is a set menu of hot pot and sashimi and a buffet, with an all-you-can-drink for 90 minutes. Is good, but there are few sightseeing spots during the daytime, so it may not be suitable for consecutive nights.

It seems that it just opened in April 2022, and it is a beautiful building. Lobby was very large, too, and sofa and table were still there. It's like a hotel in a foreign country. The next day I was able to get up at that time and see the sunrise. The left side of the veranda of the room is the east. All rooms are ocean view, and you can overlook the sea of Izu. Great Pacific! ! ! The sea is quite close and you can always hear the sound of waves. If the weather is clear, you can also see the seven islands of Izu. It's interesting to guess what island that is while looking at the map. Amenity is only a toothbrush in the room. Other than that, please bring it from the front desk when you check in. I didn't really know what was there, so I got everything for the time being (lol) The pool is timed. Put in for an hour and a half. The water was quite cold, so I was grateful to receive a bath towel. I went in the evening and felt a little cold. I didn't swim there, but it's about 25 meters long. The scenery is just wonderful. Sunset, sea, sunset... I could stand by the pool all the time. I returned with the sunset, but the night pool was beautiful at night. It was lit up. You can see the pool from the room. Dinner is a buffet. You can choose from 6:00 to 7:30 or 7:30 to 9:00. It was delicious as usual, and I was satisfied with the number of items. It was full of seafood such as sashimi, grilled shrimp, grilled turban shell in Burgundy, and sushi. I don't know how many pieces of sashimi I ate (laughs) Of course, there are also meat dishes such as roast beef and rafute. Sweets were also substantial, and I could eat as much as I could, such as cakes and brulee. I felt that the T-bag type herbal tea was rare. I drank wild berries and African nectar. I prefer the latter. As for fruit, the melon was sweet and the best. It would have been nice to have breakfast as well. I enjoyed it for an hour and a half, but the guests with children returned to their rooms. I think there were meals that children could eat, such as gratin, shrimp chili, and seafood curry, but it's strange. It was surprising that we were the only ones who stayed until the closing time. Breakfast is also a buffet. Same as the day before, I'm satisfied. Of particular note are the mushroom omelet rice and orange French toast. It is said to be a specialty of Izu. I replaced it several times. I ate a lot of sweets for breakfast as well. The yam compote is impressive. I used the open-air bath twice, one at night and one in the morning. A bathing fee of 150 yen will be charged at check-out, so the more you enter, the more you will get. With an ocean view, I felt like I was soaking in the sea. Feels like an infinity pool. Finally, about transportation. It is safer not to walk from the station. There are many slopes and you will be tired. I am very grateful for the free pick-up service, but I wish it was on time. Is there only one car? We booked the transfer from the train station to the hotel in advance. However, he didn't come to the station when the time came, and when I called him, he was told that he was on his way. Hotel → station transfer told the front desk the departure time on the night of the first day. However, when it was time to leave, the car was nowhere to be found, and the driver would be there in five minutes. It was time for the train, so I was quite confused. The driver was a pro, so I'm glad I made it in time. I was blessed with friends who accompanied me, and it was a fun trip. The hotel was also good overall.
