Excellent
Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung
We just stayed 6 nights at this hotel. It is perfectly located for a stay in Essen City, just a few steps from the central station. Great rooms, conveniently designed with lots of space. Breakfast buffet offers complimentary Breakfast. For a drink you have to visit the “sister hotel” Moxy next door. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, Special shoutout to Khaled and Kofi! We enjoyed our stay.
GGuest UserThe hotel is 20 minutes walk from Essen Central Railway Station, not far from the pedestrian street, walking is within walking distance, parking is also very convenient downstairs in the hotel itself.
The parking fee is 17.5 Euro/night, which is a bit more expensive. The parking fee has to be paid in advance and not accepted. It is estimated that inflation in Europe has been quite severe in the past two years. I feel that prices are soaring, and prices for meals and accommodation are rising.
GGuest UserBusiness travel for Euroshop. Liked my stay and did not feel as formal as a hotel. Breakfast was good, warm breakfast was ok but got boring after the 3rd day. Staff helpful. I will go back to this hotel. Taxis and trains close to hotel. Rooms clean and bedding nice white linen. Good experience
MmichaelThe rooms are well furnished also a little away from the typical room. My room had separate toilet and shower, very pleasant.
Small Manco, an unforgettable object 4 hours after the CA, was allegedly not found in the room, which is bad. So small he wasn't.
Beds are also very comfortable, everything in all very good hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel is part of the B&B chain, so you know in advance what you might expect. Rooms are basic but clean. And definitely OK for a night or for a couple of nights, they have a private bathroom, TV and climate control. Car park is available in front of the hotel (free of charge). The hotel is located just outside the 'Stadkern', it's a ten minute walk to the Limbecker Platz shopping center.
GGuest UserAlways a good stay. Sometimes, during the night a little bit noisy, but is nothing. Next to the city centre, next to a shopping center, next to good restaurants, free parking in a garage and in the street... What else :)
PPerry YeThe overall is relatively clean and the environment is good. We simply stayed for one night and went to Cologne the next day, about an hour's drive away.
The breakfast is also not bad. Next time you can consider staying again
GGuest UserPositive: the modern bathroom and friendly service in the breakfast room Meeting at breakfast Negative: When arrived we were treated at the reception high-nassing and arrogantly. The staff at the reception did not excel by competence. For example, we could not explain why we cannot receive a broadcast from WDR on television. And that in North Rhine-Westphalia. All other broadcasts were present. The room service failed to complete our washing after 2 normal bed covers. A chocolate stick in the carpet floor was present at the beginning and was still not removed at the departure. The room (category: Business plus) only had very uncomfortable seating furniture (a sofa and a very heavy chair). Due to depression and back pain we got in this room, we have already travelled 2 days earlier. A meeting at the night price was rejected. Even breakfast for the two days had to be paid. The normal price for breakfast we fortunately didn't have to pay is not proportional to what is offered. Our judgment: not recommendable!
Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!
