Sigiri Shen Residence

Spent 4 nights at Shen's and it was better than we ever anticipated. There were 3 of us, and we had a double and a single bed to choose from. The rooms we stayed in were basic but they are clean and cleaned every other day if staying longer. Bathroom was big, clean and with hot water. They have their own little restaurant which offers home made local dishes that were so tasty. We couldn't get enough of their homemade pancakes. Spent many a hours in the evenings just chilling on the porch outside our room, while we planned the following day's itinerary. Those were some of the best moments of our trip and make us think of Shen's even more fondly. Location is somewhat walking distance to Sigiriya fortress as well as other restaurants in Sigiriya. Leaving the best to last, why Shen's is such a great choice is because of the hospitality we received. It's a family run business with the owners just living next door. The entire family including their doggies were a treat to meet. ( Hosts who care for animals always score high in our books). Big big thank you to Hansi, Shen's sister for all her help that included early early morning packed breakfasts. She's such a star who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Thank you for everything and apologise for the many pots of tea we kept ordering! No doubt one of the best family owned, home-stays, we experienced. Thank you Shen and family.Hope to see you again.

Amazing value for money and lovely host! + Shen was great and very caring. He did everything so we could have a wonderful stay. He even came to look for us walking back to the guesthouse after a early morning hike to the Sigiriya mountain ruins (the exit is about 15 minutes walking). Clean, good breakfast and nice room. - Everything was fine!

Exceptional service from Sean. We forgot our cell phone and money in front of our room going on a motorcycle trip to Pawalarna. Sean followed is for 25 minutes snce he knew the direction we were going and brought tr stuff saved the day. Fair friendly service we will be back. Location and neighborhood very convenient

Find your self sourrounded by beautiful green in the wounderful garden of this residence. You can choose between different rooms, all with a balcony in front. We stayed for 3 nights in one of the new rooms, everthing is nicely buildet and it was very comfortable! The food they served, was the best of our whole trip in sri lanka.. specially the rice and curry - make sure you taste the beetroots and eggplants omg.
