Great B&B. Location excellent in central district. Close to most historical sites . Bed incredibly comfortable with a fantastic shower. Breakfasts are excellent with nice options including eggs ordered custom. Staff are very friendly and will go all the way to satisfy clients. Don't be taken aback by main entrance-looks a bit shabby but once you enter Maeco it is 100 % classy and very thoughtful design.

Martina has an amazing B&B. A beautiful historic building, the spaces and rooms are stylishly presented and exceptionally clean. Martina and the staff were very helpful meeting our every need. The breakfast environment was welcoming and provided an opportunity to engage with other guests. Boat tours and other activities can be organised by the staff. It is central to all the beautiful sights, steps away from the cathedral. Thank you Martina and team, for a fabulous week.

Have just had a very enjoyable trip to Sicily made all the better by our stay at Maeco Ortigia. From the very start the prompt replies from Martina (B&B Owner) and her Manager (Nastassi) to my many emailed questions convinced us we had made a good choice of accommodation. By way of information; as we were driving directly from the airport, we were offered their valet parking service (for a fee). They instructed me to send car details when we picked it up at the airport so they could arrange a pass to drive into the ZTL zone and have someone to meet us. Not the B&B's fault but this proved stressful. Unknown to me at the time, Waze (map app I use) automatically avoids ZTL zones, so basically I drove around and around tiny streets fielding calls enquiring where I was! In frustration I parked up and thankfully within minutes, they found me! Bear this in mind if you are driving using Waze (I have since found a way to disable this feature). We booked a basic room and wished we had upgraded this as Room 5 is tiny, that said it was spotlessly clean and had all you needed; aircon, built-in wardrobe, safe and a very nice bathroom. Slight niggle, for me, was the drainage in the shower was very slow meaning you were stood in a big puddle as you washed! Breakfast was lovely served in a bright sunny room with an impressive selection of goodies on offer. The personal service offered by the team is second to none, evidenced by Martina's reaction when I told her the miniature bottle of airline wine I put in the shared fridge in the corridor had gone missing. She immediately replaced it with a full sized bottle with a Room 5 sticker on it (ironically it did turn up, albeit opened with some taken out, clearly not to the taste of the person who had taken it!!) If you are looking for a unique and comfortable place to stay within walking distance of the many places of interest Ortigia offers, you can't go wrong with Maeco Ortigia. We would definitely stay here again should we return to Ortigia.

My husband & I spent 4 nights here and were very well looked after by Martina in her lovely B&B. It is in a central location on the island of Ortigia, has been beautifully decorated and is very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and served in the elegant dining room. Martina helped us with recommendations for excellent restaurants and also organised a day out with a personal tour guide to visit the locations featured in my husband’s favourite TV show, Inspector Montalbano. Highly recommended.
