Sorry for the long review.. Our first visit to Syvota and this small well looked after hotel. The gardens were beautiful and very well kept. The rooms were clean and serviced well by the efficient cleaning staff but there was not enough storage. As a result the room was very messy /cluttered as there was no bedside cabinet or drawers of any description to put anything away.. Another small point to note that there is no telephone in the rooms so if anything was required it was a walk to reception, if there was an emergency of any kind it would be a problem... Breakfast was included in the price and there was a good selection of continental items, fruit fresh and tinned, plain greek yoghurt, croissant, various preserves, choice of 3 cereal, ham, cheese slices, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, freshly baked bread, fruit juice.. there was a {warm } selection of fried eggs, omellete, sometimes mushrooms & ham, potatoes which were in tureens but unfortunately the warming element was never turned on and most of the time they items were cold..i am not sure why ? But you could not go hungry as it was a large choice of food.. There were some tables inside, but a nice undercover area overlooking the sea which was very pleasant to eat your breakfast each morning. There was the option to upgrade to HB and daily there was a selection of 3 or 4 courses at a price of 15 Euros which was good value but the portions were quite small. and not to our taste. we did not eat at the hotel on many occassions as the prices for drinks were expensive..Large beer was 5Eu , glass of wine 6Eu, Fresh orange was 6Eu, the cheapest bottle of wine was 19Eu..If the hotel would just reduce their prices a bit they would probably keep the guests in hotel instead they eat over in the next bay as their drinks are so much more competitvely priced..Even bottled water was expensive .. Unless you walked into Syvota 20 mins away you were bound by the hotels high prices sadly. Guests were a mixture of german, norwegian, dutch, and very few british..we found this refreshing..the only downside we found was that the majority of the staff did not understand English which could sometimes be problematic particularly when it involved a dietry issue.. There were plenty of sunbeds and sunshades, and the pool was kept clean.. It was great to be able to swim in the sea from the steps that went down from the patio area. and you were able to rent extra beach towels for a small fee at reception.. We did find that the staff generally were helpful and friendly if not a little biased towards certain nationalities but we enjoyed our 2 weeks stay here..and met some nice people.. Really not sure if i would return .. this review is longer than normal, but in the months leading up to our holiday at Mikros Paradisos we had difficulty finding any information as to what was included in the rooms, such as kettle ,cups, glasses,toiletries,.. which is the reason for the lengthy review!!! We did e mail the hotel, but some
