We so wanted to have a wonderful afternoon tea for my Mum’s 86th birthday but unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at Slebech Park. Ambience There was no atmosphere in the restaurant. It was dead. It felt like we were sitting at a pub table, not a 2 rosette restaurant table. Service The service was poor. There was one young inexperienced member of staff who had not been trained adequately.. The afternoon tea The sandwiches were delicate soft and delicious. There was a good selection of cakes. However, it felt like the cake stands had been left sitting around for a while, as the cakes and scones were drying out. We were not offered fresh tea or asked if we would like anything else, e.g., a glass of fizz. If you are paying for something it should be up to scratch. An afternoon tea should be a real treat and something which is a luxurious experience. Sadly that was not the case for us.
