Perched high in the hills, the hotel has a fantastic view of the bay of Naples, Vesuvius, as well as overlooking Sorrento town. Access is via a winding road, which I would suggest only the bravest of drivers attempt to use. The corners are very sharp in sections and there are usually motorcycles flying around them. The hotel does have a car park opposite, which is free to use. I was on a package holiday with Tui, which comprised of Half board. This entailed breakfast and dinner. The staff are warm and engaging, there are a couple which are over bearing sometimes, especially at breakfast, but on the whole, they could not do enough for you. The hotel is clean throughout, and is very standard for Italian hotels in the region (dated). There were some signs of wear and tear, and some areas could do with modernising. I had to change room as my first room was not fit for purpose. The electric sockets were hanging out of the wall, the shower was dirty and leaked, the toilet seat was missing and there was blood on the linen. The second room was clean, although I think the issue is with plug sockets was a hotel issue, as I had the same issue. Rooms have a fridge, bathroom and usually two single beds, unless you ask for a double. An iron and ironing board is available from reception. There are no drink making facilities in the rooms. The hotel offers free transport to and from Sorrento, this changes throughout the day, so be sure you check the times. The drop in Sorrento is always the same, to get into Sorrento town, just cross the road and go down the steps. The road you come out on goes into the center (5 mins). The drop off is also 5 mins from the local bus and train station. For trips, local bus tickets can be purchased from reception if needed for trips to Amalfi or Positano. You cannot buy bus tickets onboard the bus. Breakfast was standard continental, very bland and not very fresh. Usually unused vegetables from the previous night were dished out, alongside tasteless cheese and meats. Coffee was very cheap (I checked the brand) and lacked full flavour. Being on half board meant I had dinner included. However, what I didn't realise was the standard of the food on the menu. You were presented with a menu in the morning and asked to chose your selection, which would be served between 7pm and 9pm. The quality of the food was mixed (see pics). Most of what I had tasted warmed up, flavourless and cheap (fried potatoes were rubbery). The service you received was also different to other guests who were on a la carte. It made you feel 2nd class. The staff were more attentive, offering wine menus and ensuring they had cloth napkins, when people on half board only got paper napkins. Also, the outside terrace was usually reserved for paying guests. Meal prices for paying guests range from €16 for pasta with clams to around €45 for steak. There is better food to be had in Sorrento. The pool area is a joke. The staff allow people
