Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, living up to its reputation as a luxury hotel. The room was spacious and clean, with European-style decor. From the balcony, you could see the ocean. The hotel is just across the road from the seaside boardwalk, perfect for a stroll. Wheat Island, a popular网红 spot, is less than 2 km away on foot. Breakfast was incredibly lavish; there was no way to finish it all. The buffet dinner was also quite impressive – again, so much food, couldn't finish it all! You can't take too much at once, as it gets cold quickly. Service was excellent. There were staff to help with luggage, turndown service, and even someone to wipe down cars. I didn't bring my child this time, but I'll definitely bring them back. There are lots of entertainment facilities for kids on the B1 floor that we didn't get to experience.

Along the way, we saw many people fishing, catching huge mantis shrimp and blue crabs. It was wonderful to enjoy fresh seafood right by the ocean!

A special shout-out to Xiao Jia, whose service response was incredibly prompt. She proactively added a bed guard for my baby. Because I'm sensitive to noise, she thoughtfully arranged a quieter room for me on the second night. The breakfast selection at the Qingweiliao restaurant downstairs was extensive, and you can also order lunch and dinner there; the food was delicious and didn't have tourist-trap pricing. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around, being very close to Lover's Dam for the light show and Torch Pier for ferry rides.

The hotel is nowhere near as luxurious as the pictures suggest. It looks quite old in person, even for a relatively new hotel. It has a very dated feel. All of the deluxe king rooms are located near the runway, and the sound of planes taking off is incredibly loud. There's no way you'd get any sleep at night. I eventually asked the front desk to change my room to a twin room on the terminal side, which was much quieter. The layout and size of the twin room were quite suitable. Although the hotel has a dedicated tunnel connecting directly to the airport, it's a very long walk, about 10-15 minutes. Personally, I don't think the deluxe king room is worth over 400 yuan at all. The room felt cramped and old, and the bedding had a smell, possibly of disinfectant.

It feels like the service in northern China is often a 'do-it-because-my-boss-told-me-to' mentality, and any extra requests from guests are seen as an inconvenience. The buffet at the 1928 Beer Bar is more Western-style. Many people might not be used to it. We tried it, and the quality of the desserts was excellent! There's a beach right behind the hotel, with some rocks, but not too many. You can go tide pooling in the early morning and at night. It's too hot during the day due to strong sun, and there isn't much seafood to find then either. The package included access to the Haiquanwan Hot Springs, but I must mention: it was dirty. There were no tissues or disposable combs in the hair-drying area (only a few scattered combs for everyone to share). With this level of service, I won't be returning. The hotel's location is indeed a bit remote, making it suitable for self-driving. There's a Shandong University cafeteria and museum nearby, which I'd give five stars!
