Wonder - The Luxury Boutique Hotel

The hotel was clean and well-maintained. During our five-day stay, we had to ask for our room to be cleaned twice. The hotel is well-located, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The breakfast was definitely the weakest aspect of the hotel. It's served à la carte, which isn't well-advertised on their website. The selection was poor and it was expensive. It's served at tiny tables that are far from standard size. The non-Hungarian staff wasn't friendly and played loud music. Overall, the experience was mediocre. I definitely recommend having breakfast outside the hotel. The city is great for sightseeing, and public transport, despite its older vehicles, is excellent.

Great location, very close to where you can take Danube river cruises, and there's a Christmas market nearby, which creates a festive atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the room is spacious. The only downside is that the price was a bit high when booked for New Year's Eve.

The front desk staff were quite incompetent. Check-in took forever, and then my friend's room key didn't work. Another friend found a welcome card for someone else on their table upon entering their room. My room was a corner room, which they didn't even ask about, but they were very pushy about getting us to upgrade. We upgraded, and the service was still terrible. Then, at check-out, we thought it would be quick, but a young woman struggled for ages before calling over her colleague. We thought there might be an extra charge, but then she somehow pulled out someone else's room cards, claiming they didn't match ours. Couldn't she just ask us what our room number was? We gave her two room cards, and she somehow ended up with three! We were in a hurry to catch a flight and told them so, but she still fumbled around for ages. Plus, the kettle in the room was broken, and when we asked for a replacement, that one was also broken... It was an ordeal all afternoon; we couldn't even take an afternoon nap. I can only say the hotel is all show and no substance; the interior is rotten. Also, it seems like they sprayed a lot of disinfectant in the room when cleaning, and the windows don't open for ventilation...

The front desk guy was really nice. He gave me a room with a great view, basically right across from Buda Castle. The scenery was superb! I lost my credit card in Austria and explained it to him, and he didn't even charge me a deposit. The only downside is that the hotel is right above a boat dock. Every night, some singing starts, and the bass kicks in with a booming sound until past midnight. It's really not conducive to sleep! If you have trouble sleeping, I'd suggest thinking twice before booking. I saw comments before about it being noisy at night but completely ignored them, and now I'm paying the price. Definitely should have paid more attention to previous reviews.

The hotel provides water dispensers with fresh drinking water available daily, which is very convenient and contributes positively to overall comfort. In addition, fresh juices are offered, providing a pleasant and refreshing option throughout the day. It is also worth highlighting that there is a selection of desserts available without added sugar, which is a thoughtful and health-conscious offering. Furthermore, the bus stop is very easily accessible on foot and offers quick and convenient connections to the city center, making it simple to explore the area without the need for a car.

Our original booking for a family suite was unavailable, and the hotel insisted that the standard room they gave us was the correct room type. This was completely inconsistent with the pictures from my stay in 2024 and the room type displayed on Ctrip. It wasn't until I showed them photos from my previous stay that they admitted the room type was incorrect. After negotiating with their supervisor, we paid an additional 200 euros per day to upgrade to a larger suite. Aside from the convenient access to New York Café, everything else was really subpar. You can compare pictures one and two with the room type images on Ctrip – consider this a warning!

The idea of staying in a castle monastery is appealing, especially if you prefer a quieter side of Budapest. The room was pleasant, but not overly luxurious. The breakfast was simple, and the music was too loud when I woke up. The location wasn’t convenient for me, and the monastery experience didn’t live up to my expectations. I stayed on the other side of Pest and had a much better time.

Check-in time was flexible; we arrived early and were immediately given a room to rest, which was a huge plus for those arriving on early flights. Our standard room was on the 5th floor, a typical hotel room setup with good natural light and plenty of sunshine. The mattress was incredibly comfortable. In contrast, the bathroom had a much more distinctive design. A highlight was the small spa pool on the basement level, which had a unique vibe, wasn't crowded, and was very relaxing. It's complimentary for guests. While the hotel breakfast didn't have a huge selection, everything was relatively tasty, especially the Hungarian baked eggs, which were exactly to my liking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended! PS: There was a wedding party on the day we checked in, and the music was quite loud at night, but fortunately, we couldn't hear it much from the 5th floor.

Wonderful hotel with really kind and helpful personnel, clean rooms and appropriate food. Location is perfect for those who travel by car - it's 10 min to city center and footwalk to Hero Square but in the area without harsh traffic. And their garage is comfortable and not crowded.
