Secondly, the environment of the homestay is also very good, the facilities are newer, the cleaning is also very clean and hygienic. The homestay has its own catering, and there is no need to worry about eating. Overall, if you go to Laobiangou and Dashihu by car, you have to have a cost-effective price. 新建的民宿，二層小樓，挺現代，比附近的老的民宿看着乾淨，本身也確實挺乾淨。沒有早餐，吃不了飯，但老闆親戚家是開飯店的，離着不遠，做菜很好吃。這個小村子都是民宿一到晚上家家篝火，卡拉ok，煙花，非常熱鬧。

Overall, you can live here in the old Biangou Scenic Area of Dashi Lake in Benxi. It is much better than other homestays. It is very convenient to have a parking lot. The room was very clean and there was a small balcony. It felt very comfortable to see the scenery outside. The hotel seems to have just been renovated and the room smells heavy. The restaurant is large, the service is the feeling of an ordinary farmyard, the dishes are more expensive and not very tasty. Everything else is OK.

First, let's get down to business. We visited Guanmenshan on the afternoon of our stay, leaving the scenic area in the evening. Accommodation near the Guanmenshan entrance and within 7 kilometers was fully booked. Considering we were heading towards Panjin the next day, we chose this guesthouse, located 11 kilometers from the scenic area, on the Xiaocao Line near the Benji Expressway. As previous reviews indicated, the courtyard and rooms were relatively clean and tidy (a few small spiders in the rooms were negligible, given it's a mountainous area). Its convenient location by car, coupled with the limited number of similarly clean and tidy guesthouses in the area, were its advantages. During our conversation, the owner and his family, or the helpers, seemed particularly proud of this advantage, essentially saying that while the price was indeed higher during the long holiday, their accommodations were better than others, and tourists preferred their place. Upon check-in, we noticed the owner's wife was working as both receptionist and restaurant staff, demonstrating her organized and efficient work style. Contrary to previous reviews, the staff wasn't very welcoming. Instead, they demanded a 200 RMB deposit in a commanding manner, bluntly stating that Ctrip was Ctrip and the deposit was their policy. I patiently asked what the deposit was for, and the landlady hesitated before saying it was for the room key. After paying, I asked for a receipt, but she again curtly said no, and I'd get the room key the next day. So, okay. The next day, I didn't see the landlady for breakfast; it was the elders of her family who were preparing it. Several flies were buzzing around the steamed buns and pancakes. (In this respect, the landladys in Laobiangou are much better—not only are they welcoming, but they're also hardworking, taking charge of both breakfast and dinner). The elders were actually very welcoming, but their reaction time was definitely slower than the younger people. Since we didn't need to get up early to go to Guanmenshan, we didn't eat until 8 am. The pancakes, porridge, and steamed buns were all left for us, but they were completely cold. I asked if we could reheat the food, and an older lady kindly agreed to microwave some steamed buns and porridge for us. Thank you. After breakfast, we packed up and headed out. I went to the front desk to return the room key, and several elderly people, or perhaps housekeeping staff, immediately rushed into the room to check everything. After checking, they said everything was fine, without reminding me about the deposit I still needed, and just left. I almost forgot about it until I reached my car outside, then ran back to get it. And when I went back to get the deposit, I found several elderly housekeeping staff removing pillowcases from each room, saying, ”Oh dear, this pillowcase really needs replacing...” 😂😂😂 I just pretended not to hear them. It's not that I have high expectations for guesthouses, but the service experience was quite different from the exceptionally warm service I'd heard in previous reviews. Especially considering I booked rooms for over 500 or 600 yuan each. If it were only 200 or 300, I would have laughed it off. Furthermore, I'd like to mention a comparison of the food costs. After comparing several similar dishes, Lao Ma Farmhouse was slightly more expensive than the one near the entrance of Guanmenshan Scenic Area, which might be due to its convenient location. That evening, after leaving Guanmenshan Scenic Area, we encountered a traffic jam at the entrance due to the long holiday, which took half an hour to an hour. So, we ate dinner at Lehuo Wujie Xishui Lou, located just outside the scenic area gate. We expected it to be more expensive because of its elegant dining environment, but the five of us only spent less than 200 yuan, which was quite economical and pleasant. Later, when we drove to Lao Ma Farmhouse to check in, we noticed that many dishes were identical on the menu posted at the front desk. I carefully compared the prices of dishes like Xiaoshi mutton soup and braised catfish, and found that the farmhouse was actually charging 10 yuan more per dish than the upscale Xishui Lou! 😅😅😅 Overall, because we didn't have a particularly good experience, I forgot to take pictures. 😂😂😂 Here's a picture of the red leaves at Guanmenshan Maple King; they were quite beautiful.
