2-Star Hotels in Shanghai

I initially chose this place just for its location, but once I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the front desk staff was. They asked if it was my first time staying and personally showed me to my room, and then to the bathroom facilities. Although the room was small, it was neat and clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. It's rare for a hostel to provide two pillows, which was a nice touch. The shower area was surprisingly spacious with a separate wet and dry area, and most importantly, it was incredibly clean. The toilet was a smart bidet and also very well-maintained – a huge shoutout to the cleaning staff! The common area is quite large with window seats offering a good view.

Stayed here for three nights and four days while on a trip to Shanghai. The service was excellent, and the hotel was very clean and tidy. Housekeeping came to clean every day, which was great. The location is also fantastic, very close to the subway, making it super easy to get to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Lujiazui, and the Science and Technology Museum directly by metro.

Very good communication via WeChat about checking in and out procedure, quick response if we needed anything or had questions. Room was very nice, big and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped. Shower was ok, but the water wouldn’t drain well… Overall pleasant stay in the quiet area. Would recommend 👍

I am a family of six, the bed is spacious, the location is superb.. Close to everywhere, food, shop, very very Convenient location. There is a washing machine and a dryer, for family trip it is very helpful, during my stay they also assist me if i need something. If you are hiring a private car or didi make sure to go a bit further so it is safe to load the baggage, since they can't stop in front of the premises. Across the premises are popeyes, bakery, food ahop

The room was generally clean and tidy. The main highlight is the excellent location; it's very convenient to get a taxi anywhere, and it's not far from the subway station. There are also plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The staff were responsive and efficient in handling any issues, and their service attitude was very good. My stay was comfortable and reassuring. This trip to Shanghai was very pleasant, and I'm very satisfied with the overall experience. If I need to come back, I'll definitely stay here again, and I recommend it to others!

Great review! It's a loft with European-style decor, located in a Shikumen alleyway. I loved the small courtyard, perfect for an evening drink. It was clean and hygienic, with one large bed, one small bed, and a sofa. There's a projector and a smart toilet, plus a kitchen fully equipped with utensils, dishes, and seasonings. A microwave is also available for heating food. The hot water and air conditioning worked perfectly. Disposable towels are available for a fee. There's also a washing machine and a drying rack, which is excellent and very convenient for longer stays! The service was very good, and any issues were promptly resolved. It's not far from attractions like the Bund and museums. Sinan Mansions and Tianzifang are within walking distance, with the latter being particularly close and great for a stroll. The sheets and duvet covers were clean and comfortable. The sofa bed comforter was a bit thick, and the large bed's mattress was quite soft – I personally prefer a firmer bed, but everything else was great. Highly recommend!

Nice staff and location. Building built in 2009. A bit older. Needs renovation. Apartment smells of sewage most of the time. Bed was uncomfortable. Sheets were making me itchy, but it happens sometimes as my skin is sensitive. Washer dirty, so didn't use.

We were very happy with our stay at Waiting Hotel! First of all, the location is excellent. The hotel is very close to the Bund and Yu Garden, making it easy to reach many of Shanghai’s beautiful and popular attractions on foot. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We stayed on the sixth floor and also enjoyed the view from our window. The rooms are not very large, but they are cozy, thoughtfully arranged, and have everything needed for a comfortable stay. We would especially like to thank the hotel staff for their excellent service and kind attitude. On the day of our departure, we were unable to check out by 12:00, and the staff kindly allowed us to stay until after 2:00 PM. This was extremely helpful for us, and we truly appreciated their understanding and flexibility. We are very grateful to the hotel team for their hospitality, care, and excellent service. We had a wonderful experience and would gladly stay here again. We can definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai! We arrived at around 3:00 AM, and the staff welcomed us and checked us in immediately without any problems. They were very attentive and even helped us with our luggage. The elevator goes up to the fifth floor, while our room was on the sixth floor, so the staff kindly helped us carry a heavy suitcase upstairs. We really appreciated this.

We stayed there for 6 nights. The flat is nice and looks like the pictures. Staff is friendly and helpful. The location is not ideal, as it's hard to find the place and the alley is not well lit. It's not far from Nianjing Road and the Bund by metro.

The hotel's location is super convenient, right next to Shanghai Railway Station. You just have to cross an underpass after exiting the subway. The ladies at the front desk were so warm and helpful, making the check-in process quick and easy. The room was really spacious, and the bathroom was huge too. Plus, there's a laundry room nearby offering free wash and dry services. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.
