This hotel has a stunning setting with views of the vineyards and the mountains. There is a pool and beautiful gardens with many birds. The room block could use a makeover - there are water leaks along walkways and the door to our room was warped and peeling paint and could not be dead bolted. Shower drain didn’t work and flooded the bathroom. The buildings all have anticoagulant rat poison boxes installed at ground level; they say there is no rat infestation problem but there are a lot of poison boxes near the kitchen areas. They say they collect the rat carcasses immediately but the grounds are large and the poisoned rats pose a serious environmental problem for the predator birds that are in the area.

A very comfortable and enjoyable 4 night stay. Location and views terrific. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food choices. Would certainly stay there again.

Service vid middag en besvikelse, en av oss fick fel rätt, hantering i samband med detta ej godtagbar. Frågade vid ankomst om vinprovning och fick tidsangivelse, till vår stora förtret visade sig att provningen stängt den angivna tiden.
Absolut inte femstjärnig upplevelse och på långt när inte värt det höga priset.

Some renovations are needed
Overall, the property is nice and staff are very friendly making sure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable. It is a perfect venue for weddings or special occasions.
The property is listed as a 5-star hotel. Our room, however, had the entire backwall with peeling paint in the bathroom which suggest previous water damage that has not been fixed. This is rather unacceptable for a hotel rated at 5-stars with a nightly rate of more than $400/night. Hence, our lower rating.

For the howmanytime Ive been to Asara, it was an incredable experience. 100% to wine steward Analisa, what an extrdinory girl. So much personality and knowledge, what an asset to the wine farm. Wonderful wine and wonderful experience! I will come back and back!

Analisa is the ONLY reason why we always come back. She has an infectious personality and she makes wine tasting experience so special. She is an asset to Asara. It is pute joy to have her as our wine steward. The wines are really great, espevially the white cab!!

5 STAR EXPERIENCE ONCE WE FOUND IT OUR GOOGLE MAPS TOOK US 14 MILES AWAY AND WE HAD SOME CONSIDERABLE DIFFICULTY FINDING THE ESTATE ONCE FOUND I COULD NOT FAULT ANYTHING WINE TASTING AND FOOD PARING EXCELLENT GREAT ESTATE WITH WALKS GREAT BREAKFAST ON SIDE OF LAKE , EXCELLENT ROOM CONVENIENT FOR STELLENBOSCH GREAT SEVICE AND STAFF IN PARTICULAR RICARDO BREAKFAST SERVICE CALVIN FOR WINE TASTING WENT OVER AND BEYOND

Asara is a fantastic spot to relax and unwind. We were greeted with a welcome drink and a very smooth check-in process with a detailed run down of the local area, despite the fact we arrived very early. Staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy and was cleaned each day of our stay. The small touches are what make this hotel. Our room was turned down each night with a small treat left and the robes laid out. There is a real homely feel about the resort and breakfast each morning was amazing experience. Nothing was rushed our too much, and we were even asked exactly when we wanted our hot selection following the continental. The selection was excellent. The wine tasting is a wonderful experience too, and all the servers are really knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds and the views are amazing. My wife and I will definitely be back when we visit South Africa again.
