The on line advance check in process was highly frustrating to the point that I gave up after 3 attempts of repeated requests to put in the booking code whereupon it just kept resending new codes without accepting the code just sent. it was supposed to save time In the end checking in at the reception desk could not have been simpler and easier with an extremely nice and efficient lady Apart from the above a most pleasant if somewhat brief stay

Lovely quiet hotel with plenty of food chains near by or the pub had a great breakfast selection at great prices.

This is second time we have stayed there ok for a one night stay but would probably not stay more than one night Staff were friendly but this time felt rushed to order what we wanted to eat even though it was not busy and didn’t seem to be to the same standard as the last time we were there so overall disappointed

I stayed here for one night whilst in the area for business. The member of staff who checked me in was welcoming and helpful. There was plenty of parking both near the pub/restaurant and near the hotel building. The hotel room was basic but it was clean and comfortable and did the job for the price. The room felt spacious and was quiet which resulted in a good night's sleep. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, staff were really friendly and the service was good and the food was really nice. My reason for giving only 3 stars was because of experiencing a smell of cigarette smoke. When I first arrived in my room it smelt as if someone had been smoking in there previously. I opened the windows and it soon went. However when I woke in the morning the same smell was back and it was unpleasant. I noticed that it was coming from the bathroom and must had been entering there from the air vent. So it was either someone in another room smoking on their bathroom and the smoke circulating or the external vent is where people smoke outside. This was quite disappointing.

we regularly visit the Red Squirrel, mostly for the carvery which is a fantastic choice of meats and vegetables.. staff are pleasant, polite and attentive.. apart from the carvery there are plenty of daily specials, the particular favourite being the steak nights .

Good value

Ridiculous that we couldn’t be given a table for a carvery, but could have a table to order from the main menu, without a booking. A Quick Look online showed that I could make a booking ( and therefore have a carvery) in just 20 minutes after we left ! Could the staff not offered us the option of waiting 20 minutes? By the time I left I was in no Mood to return . Customers are obviously ten a penny !
