A very good hotel, old-school and stylish. The staff is warm and friendly. It is only a few minutes walk from the attractions. The price is also reasonable. Highly recommended!

Fantastic afternoon here yesterday at a charity lunch club, there was a huge group of us and nothing was too much trouble for the kitchen and bar. The soup was probably the best IV ever had, roast beef was so tender and served with great veg and toasties.the gravy was so well flavoured it was all delicious..being local I will definitely be back..Thank you.👍

I’m sorry to have to write a less effusive review than previous contributors. First impressions of the hotel are very good with what seems to be a well presented interior, friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable ambiance and an impressive staircase to all the rooms. However, it didn’t take much to notice that the carpet on the stairs was old, becoming threadbare and needing a clean. This theme continued to our room. The room seemed impressive at first but was immediately let down by a strong, lived smell. I tried to open the windows, but they were in a poor state of repair and could only open a few inches and with some effort. The bathroom smelled of damp and the ceiling over the shower was damp, slightly mouldy and with peeling paint. It didn’t take much to notice that what was once a very good carpet was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned properly in years. The soft furnishings smelled lived in and were stained ( something I noticed about the upholstered bench in the restaurant too). I did report to the very nice member of staff on duty who said the hotel’s owners (a small chain called whose name I can’t remember), hadn’t invested in the property for years. The staff really were very friendly and apologetic. Such a shame.

We stayed for two nights and had a fabulous stay. Lucas and Daniel were both fantastic hosts throughout our stay. The hotel is lovely. Our room had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable. We booked directly so a cooked breakfast was included. There was lots of choice and freshly cooked to order with top quality ingredients. We’d definitely stay again.

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night on our UK road trip the other week, and wished we stayed much longer! This hotel is beautiful, with gorgeously intricate and welcoming rooms, a great bar/restaurant, and the perfect location, right across the street from Shakespeare's "New Place". The staff were all so wonderful and friendly. The room was spacious, beautifully designed and came with a gorgeous view of the historic neighborhood. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, we will DEFINITELY be back!

We had booked two rooms, one king double and one superior. The main thing is the feeling of no maintenance, dirty rooms and bad breakfast. The carpets are so ripped and stained. The continental is ok if you only like a toast and a coffee, but we paid for cooked breakfast, twice, and wished we had stepped outside and eaten somewhere else. The rooms need a deep clean. The cealing and corners got dust hanging, with insects caugh in it. Because of the heat, and no AC, the windows had to be open. Watch of for spiders… The king room had only a shower curtain and the bathroom got wet while showering. The superior room was of ok size. Both rooms had bad lightening, and a mini mirror in a dark bathroom. If you want to apply make up, shave etc, you will need to do this by chance. The good thing is location, but there are so many other places to stay. I wonder how this is a four star hotel? Friends stayed at the Indigo next door, and it is so much better!

The location is excellent and the bedroom looked smart although their description of ‘cosy, small and compact’ is certainly accurate. There was a small hanging cupboard and table (but no drawers). Not recommended for any with mobility issues as it was on the second floor and there is no lift. Nice big shower, no bath (and basin plug did not work). And it was hot. Service variable. A continental breakfast was included but they don’t really cater for those who have to be gluten free. There was some fruit and natural yogurt (and some poor cereal loops provided on request). Informed we could have a cooked breakfast for additional cost. For the cost (£144.00 one night) we could have done better.

Lovely room in a really nice hotel in the heart of Stratford. Room was beautifully furnished and clean. Bathroom was great too with a wet room shower. Staff were really friendly and catered for our every need. Even got a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning.

Charming boutique hotel/inn that is well matched with the charming town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Proprietors very hospitable and friendly, welcoming and helpful with suggestions. No lift, but classy, well appointed rooms with no cookie-cutter hotel chain experience. Rooms are above their somewhat upscale, carefully thought out restaurant/bar. Fantastic continental breakfast, sometimes included in price depending how you book, and they are also able to do hot breakfast for a fee (no need!) Great experience for the price. Would not look anywhere else in Stratford if we returned!
