We are BW frequent guests in the highest member category and were staying here on points. At check-in, the front desk clerk said he would have to charge a $150 deposit. I refused and offered to cancel our reservation and go elsewhere. This was a simple, somewhat outdated motel with no restaurant or amenities and I saw no reason for a deposit. The clerk explained that some of their guests damaged their rooms. I assured him that would not happen with two senior citizens with a long track-record with Best Western. He called his manager, Mr. Sav Singh, who apparently refused to waive the deposit. Next the clerk suggested that I give him $150 in cash which he would return the next morning at checkout. Again I refused. This argument went on for quite some time and I told him it was getting late and we needed to go elsewhere. He finally relented and we got into our room which was clean and serviceable but very old looking with lamp electrical outlets and room fridge quite worn out. The clerk had kept insisting that he had to collect a deposit because it was the policy at their property. Afterwards, I went back to their website because I didn't know how I had missed that. The policy posted on the website states, ”Pet Policy: Pets allowed with restrictions, $20 per day with $150 refundable deposit (due at check-in).” As we had no pet, it was completely out of line for the clerk or the manager to demand a deposit from us. After staying at Best Westerns often for the past 20+ years, we can say this was the most unpleasant of all!

We recently stayed at the Days Inn Langley location. Do not let the age of this hotel turn you off...it's well maintained - some areas show some wear and tear, but the rooms are large and the staff is exceptional. They were very accommodating to the group we were with and always pleasant to deal with! Wouldn't hesitate to book here again!

The hotel room is relatively large, although the facilities are successful, but it is still very clean.  It is a very cost-effective hotel in that area and should stay again next time.

Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM. Stayed here before years ago, and that experience wasn't great, but since it been such a long time, I thought I'd give them another try as the reviews looked good in general. Checking in and checking out front desk staff was friendly and attentive and recognized my Diamond tier status right away. The cookies they have at check-in we're pretty tasty. The property while nothing to write home about, was clean and well kept, and felt safe overall. Parking spots were super narrow, so if you have a bigger car space maybe hard to come by on either side. Lobby and common areas and hallways all looked clean and up-to-date didn't notice any issues at all. Room was clean, and well kept. But the room did have two problems, 1. the bed was hard as a rock, and not very comfortable at all to me. I found the sofa bed (hide a bed) to be more comfortable than the king size regular bed 2. The light fixtures had a mixture of soft White, daylight bulbs making the room look off based on the light coloring. Breakfast had a good selection of the normal fare you'd find out a Comfort Inn cereal oatmeal fruit pastries etc. Warm food included eggs and potatoes, but the eggs were obviously powdered eggs and we're basically inedible I took one bite and couldn't stomach anymore, the potatoes were cold and rubbery, but at least they were edible and were actually real potatoes. Maybe they should have whoever prepares the cookies, be in charge of making breakfast, as the cookies were far superior to anything we had for breakfast there. I ended up with a better breakfast from Tim Hortons next door, while quite a bit less healthy, but at least it was actually hot and real food and had palatable coffee. Overall the hotel looks nice, and maybe suitable for some, for me it was only good for one night, but I probably won't return.

This is a fine 3.5* hotel, with great service, solid complimentary breakfast, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, small but good fitness room, and attentive housekeeping. Parking is easy. There's lots of restaurants, shops, grocery stores nearby. For price paid, I would come back here again. You're 40 minutes to the heart of Vancouver but the cost differential is huge.

Good property with a few issues - As a Bonvoy elite member I usually resist checking in on the app and prefer to visit the front desk to request a room upgrade, but if I visit this hotel again, I'd probably just use the app. Before arrival the app notified me that I had been upgraded, but the front desk told me there was no upgrade, just a standard room reservation with two beds (I was solo and only needed one bed), and could not be moved because the hotel was ”full” (unfortunately, my parking lot/lobby bar/day of week lie detector test indicated that to be untrue). After check-in the app was confused, the amenities in the room I received did not match the room amenities on the app, which added to my suspicions that I was downgraded on arrival. So much for using my charm and status at the front desk :) My only request was a high floor with some kind of view, instead I was given room 707 (the hotel has 32 floors) facing the street with a beautiful view of a car dealership. Anyway, once I got beyond that, the room was clean, well organized, and quiet (except for some street noise, which is one reason I requested a high floor...). I liked the small window that could be opened, the weather was right for it and I turned off the climate control for the room for the duration of the stay. As I was miffed at my check-in experience, I chose to take my food & beverage revenue elsewhere, so I have no reviews of the facilities. The stay was uneventful until checkout, where I had to deal with the front desk again. I was charged for internet that is free for Bonvoy elites, and I was not charged the $15 per night for parking, which I know from experience will be much more when the hotel's non-affiliated parking service bills the rental car company, who passes the charge on to me with some eye-watering fees....Also, for some reason I was checked out at 9:30AM, even though I had requested and received a 1PM checkout. Their system couldn't handle giving me new keys, so somebody had to escort me to the room to pick up my bags after I stepped out for some ice. Overall, a great property that needs some work on it's systems and a little more training (and honesty?) at the front desk.

The property is in great condition and very clean, comfortable rooms and nice amenities. What really made the difference though was the staff as everyone we interacted with from housekeeping to front desk to the breakfast room staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. Great experience!

We were fortunate to find this property after the original hotel we booked gave away our handicap room. The staff was accommodating, understanding and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean, and the complimentary breakfast was perfect. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a safe, clean place to stay. The staff ALL deserve kudos from the front desk, to the maids and the lovely ladies making breakfast. Top notch property.

You could tell immediately how the hotel has been fairly new! Our family stayed for 2 nights and it was quite comfy. Not sure if there was anything we disliked. Just a couple of points: Restaurant option: Match Eatery & Public house And The Buffet We had a high expectation of the Buffet. Ah… so shame… Not worth paying so much. Trust me. Avoid the place. Internet: Connection is very strong; however, keep in mind that it is UNSECURED public connection. There was someone trying to access my personal email. Very fortunately, I had my email account secured with two way authentication. Do consider… to protect yourself by setting up the 2 way authentication… etc. Lastly, Swimming pool wasn’t ready to be opened until April.
