Rydges Hotels in Sydney

I stayed for five nights, and the hotel's location is excellent. Everything listed below is within a 10-minute walk: Sydney's bustling pedestrian streets, QVB (Queen Victoria Building) for shopping, luxury stores near Sydney Tower, Circular Quay ⛵️, Darling Harbour, museums, art galleries, the Botanical Garden, and Sydney University… all very close. A taxi to the Fish Market cost 33 AUD and took 8 minutes. Alternatively, it's a 30-minute walk. The only downside to the room was its size; with two suitcases, there was hardly any space to move. There were no slippers or toothbrushes, but these could be obtained from the front desk; we brought our own. There are several convenience stores downstairs. In Sydney, convenience stores without a liquor license cannot sell alcohol, so if you want a drink, head to a bar or buy alcohol beforehand from a licensed store to avoid searching later. We found one such store at Circular Quay. Manly Beach is accessible from Circular Quay and offers beautiful scenery. There's also a good Chinese restaurant nearby called 'Mr. Huang's shop'.

The accommodation is close to Thai Town and Chinatown, creating a lively atmosphere with many restaurants around the hotel that stay open late. It's also near Paddy's Market, so you can easily walk there, shop, and bring your purchases back to the hotel. It's conveniently located within walking distance to many main tourist attractions. Regarding the hotel room itself, the bed is very soft, and housekeeping truly cleans daily. However, I'm not sure if they vacuum the carpet as there was quite a bit of dust on it. There are three power outlets, each with an on/off switch. If you're using a travel adapter, it's best to use a compact one so it doesn't interfere with the switches when plugged in. Overall, I really like this hotel.

I stayed for 7 nights. The apartment overlooks the Queen Mary building of the University of Sydney, which is perfect for parents whose children attend the university, as it's just a few minutes' walk away. **Pros**: The room is very spacious with two queen-sized beds (1.5 meters each), accommodating up to 4 people. The sheets and towels were very white. **Cons**: There was no toothpaste or slippers, and the tap water is directly from the faucet. The room cleaning was very perfunctory; there was noticeable dust on the tables, nightstands, and lamps. The bathroom was too small, and the overall decor felt very old. I'd still recommend it for parents whose daughters study at the University of Sydney. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, and it's about a 10-minute walk to the university. The price is relatively low, and it's fine if you don't mind the older decor.

The location of the accommodation and the 24-hour response were good, but the housekeeper did not clean it properly, and even though we asked for a body shower from a day ago until that morning, it was still not filled when we came in after going out.

The location is very convenient, and the view is excellent. Overall, the stay was fantastic. The room was clean and tidy, and the facilities were well-maintained. The front desk service was enthusiastic and efficient, making check-in and check-out quick. The geographical location is superior, making travel convenient, and the bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. I would choose to stay here again next time, highly recommended! It was a very good stay. The rooms were quiet and clean, and the staff were polite and friendly. The facilities were comprehensive, and the value for money was great. Everything exceeded expectations, highly recommended.

I visited three cities during my trip to Australia: Melbourne, Gold Coast, and Sydney. For Melbourne and Gold Coast, I booked Airbnb accommodations, but for Sydney, I opted for a hotel. I initially expected the hotel room to be small, especially since it's in the city center. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was, with plenty of room for luggage. Cleanliness is very important to me, and this hotel was spotless. My only minor issue was with the room service; we waited an hour for our order to arrive, which was a bit slow and could be improved.

The hotel facilities are quite good. They change towels, bath towels, and provide new packets of tea and coffee daily, and also empty the trash. The kitchenware is very complete, which was convenient for making my own breakfast. However, the bed was only made on the first day, not for the following four days. Also, since it's a storage water heater, I ran out of hot water halfway through my shower on the first day and had to wait half an hour for it to heat up again.

Was clean and nice, downstairs was very luxurious looking, and the staff were kind. The hotel is good for business stays but I wouldn’t say anything else. Tv was very outdated and could not watch anything on it, the “King” bed was 2 singles with 2 single bed sheets zipped together. Aside from that everything else was good. Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again mainly because of the tv as I like to relax in the night time.

Some dirty spots on the bed sheets. I made 4 reservations (for 12 days) for one room because of my personal reasons. And the front staff who was male said I need to check in and out for every reservations. I emailed them like 2 weeks before my check in date, and they even replied to that email. I think it was ridiculous. I asked to another staff and she helped me with staying in the same room during my stay. It was that much satisfying staying... :( Some staffs were nice, but some were not.
