Hotels near Meicun Park, Taichung

Location: It located infront local train Taichung not hsr taichung. But it is very easy to access using local train from hsr taichung/Xinwuri to local train taichung. A lot of convenience store nearby and two vegetarian shops located near the hotel the other one just at a corridor beside the hotel. Amenities: give some tea and coffee. Water heater provides. Hair dryer provided. Towels provided. Some self service can take from counter one time use shaver, toothbrush and toothpaste, indoor shoes. The hotel is located quite a distance away from the TRA station and shopping malls but bus stops are within walking distance. Buses to Nantou is located right beside the hotel, suitable for tourists making a trip to Sun Moon Lake or Qingjing Farm etc. Breakfast is not bad with some variety. There is also a vending machine with food and drinks for convenience and free coffee/tea available 24/7. Coin laundry is also available but doesn't have a timer.

Near the train and bus station which is convenient to travel to tourist places like Sun moon lake. But it is a distance away from the famous Feng chia night market. It will take about 30mins bus ride and the bus frequency is low ( waiting time up to 30mins). The room is small for 2 pax but for the price I would say it is reasonable.

Clean is small but super clean and comfy. Breakfast choice was good and changed every day throughout the entire 3 days of stay. The additional plus point would be the free laundry room at Ground Floor which you can wash for your clothes and dry them free. Staffs are polite and kind to assist you with any enquires that you have. All in all, a pleasant stay at City Inn Hotel (Taichung) and would return again for the same hotel the next trip. Lastly kudos to staff - Emma who has helped to maintain the cleanliness of Room 701 throughout the entire 3 days. Appreciate your effort. Thank you 😊

I booked this hotel as it stated that there are parking lots. When I came to check in, staff only said that there were not available and directed me to the near by parking where I have to pay fee. Staff who are at the counter check in were not so friendly, unlike the staff who are at the breakfast entrance and in front of the elevator area, they were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and we got the view where we can see the main train station.

The hotel itself is very old and some parts definitely need to be refurbished and refurnished. I had issues with the door lock, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helped me fix my issue. The hotel has all necessities I needed as a solo traveler, but you definitely won’t get any luxury here. For short stays and budget, this hotel may be good, because of its incredible location in the city. In just a few minutes you are at the train station. Next to the hotel are 2 convenience stores. The hotel scores in its really friendly staff and its strategic location. However the building and the room is very old, the bed takes time getting used to and definitely needs an overall upgrade!

Location is very very good, but bed and pillows are the worst ever! I could not sleep because the mattress springs were literally in my back, pillow very bad. Also, the check in until really really late, this means, for example, that in the dorm I was, at midnight we were 3, and at 4 AM we were 7! 4 people arrived during the night and even if they've been very respectful, still 4 people make some noise. Bed curtains need to be changed, I had the chill from the a/c direct on me. Receptionists are very very helpful, kind and speak a good English!

We are visiting Alishan, Sun-moon lake so make a stop at Taichung and we find this is a nice hotel and nice room and facilities are well equipt , we like hotel breadfast at the cafe which supply a bit variety of Asian food + American food too. It's a pity we only for a night , next trip I will plan to come back here for few days stay to explore Taitung.

Location is quite a distance from the city centre. Need to walk 10-15min to find local shops and eateries. Just across the hotel got a good-size supermarket. Bought local fruits for breakfast. No malls, night markets or shopping areas nearby. Room is spacious but rather old that needs upgrading. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good but selection rather limited. No yogurt and limited selection of fruits. Overall a reasonable good stay.
