Hotels near Wan Nian Building, Taipei

Only stayed for one night. Booked it I think the night before or the same day. It’s cheap, for a private room with TV and bathroom. It’s quiet. The front desk, was very considerate at the time. The regular check-in is at 3pm, but she let me leave my stuff and go back at 12pm. That was only about an hour of waiting or even less. Just enough to have my breakfast. They have a pet cat, it’s the cutest thing ever. Basic necessities are there. Not really a downside for me, but it’s still good to know that you gotta take a 22-step stairs, to get into the elevator. It’s just how it is. It’s in a GREAT location though. Like before entering the elevator, it’s Mala Hotpot. Before taking the stairs, it’s Family Mart. And it’s located inside the Ximending night market area. I’d actually stay here again when I come back. If I’d need a private room versus dorm type. The only thing that needs improvement is cleaning the entire room: they haven’t cleaned the under bed really well. Like I was trying to look for my slippers, so I bent down and saw the previous disposable slippers are there too. False eyelashes. Dust. Hair. Used bottles. But if you think of it, why would you need the under bed cleaned anyway? Well at least for me. It’s not a super big deal. But I remember some people have allergies and this might trigger them. So yeah. It still needs to be improved on. And it might become source of insects, bed bags maybe? or whatsoever. Oh, and the electric pot wasn’t that clean as well. I think we shouldn’t normalize that regardless if it’s not being used often by every guest. I to use the water dispenser outside(which defeats the purpose of having your pwn kettle in your room right). Overall, I’d still stay here for the sake of cheap price, quiet environment and its location.

Staffs are friendly and helpful. Room and toilet is clean. Location if hotel is very near you Ximen MRT. Very convenient for the price paid. It would be better if there is wet and dry area for the toilet. Nevertheless, we will stay again.

It's a decent and clean hotel with all the amenities needed, perfectly located at Ximending. All within walking distance. For sustainability, please take note to bring own toothpaste and tooth brush as they do not provide. They give complimentary soft ice cream, you may redeem at L5 Buttermilk, the chocolate is so nice.

Honestly, the location is better than expected though on the map it looks pretty far from the metro stations. Also partly the fact that we were blessed with good weather during our stay, hardly rained. Only downside of the service is that they only make-up your room upon request but its actually alright for us. Daily free bottled water alao upon request. Soundproof wise I would say just the waterpipes are pretty noisy, and being on 2nd floor, hardly to not get noise from the street but located at the corner of Ximenting kinda works out to be quieter. Garbage trucks clearing at 1am so if you sleep early, probably doesnt matter. Centralised water heater so will take awhile to get hot water but water pressure is good and water is hot.

The hotel is situated in an incredibly convenient location, just a stone's throw away from the vibrant Ximending Night Market! Additionally, there are several convenience stores located in close proximity to the hotel, which is incredibly handy for picking up snacks, drinks, or any essentials you might need during your stay. When it comes to breakfast, I found that the offerings were quite repetitive, with the same items served each day. If you're someone who enjoys variety in your morning meals, you might want to consider skipping the buffet altogether and exploring some of the local breakfast options available nearby. There are plenty of cafes and eateries in the area that can provide a more diverse and enjoyable dining experience. On another note, I did have some interactions with the staff at Takao Restaurant, and I must say that they weren't particularly warm or welcoming. The service felt a bit lacking, especially from an older lady who seemed to create quite a scene when handling the plates. This could detract from the overall dining experience, so it might be worth considering other dining options if you're looking for a more pleasant atmosphere.

We chose the perfect hotel for our week-long family vacation. The location couldn't be better. It was right across Ximending Night Market. Glad it was just across and not in the middle of the night market. It was a bit chaotic over there. Another good surprise was that Animate (my son's favorite anime merchandise store) was right across (not even 30 steps away, I think) the hotel entrance. It was also convenient to have a 7-11 on the ground floor. Security wasnothing to worry about because you need a keycard to go to the guest room floors. I really liked the design of the hotel. As you can tell from the photos, the design is very chic and modern. I also appreciated the 24h coffee and lounge access. Breakfast was nice too. Wish they served it until 11am. My son, who likes to sleep in, missed breakfast everyday. 😄 The staff was super friendly and helpful. They even took time to Google my questions about some vegetables served at breakfast that I've never seen before. I also commend their housekeeping staff. We turned down their offer for a clean up but they asked if we at least wanted our towels changed (which we did.) Water pressure and temperature was very good. Wish there was more light in the bathrooms, though. Another thing that would've helped was if we each had our own key cards. We were 3 people but only had 2 keys. My son was out with one key so I couldn't go to the laundry room because our other key was in the card slot to have power in the room. Minor inconveniences though but still excellent overall. We are definitely staying here again if we ever come back to Taiwan!

Although the hotel is obviously a bit old, but is well maintained, especially how our room is kept cleaned daily, and necessities/toiletries are religiously replenished. The overall staff, especially those assigned in the reception area, are consistently helpful and courteous. The area, although near the busy commercials of Ximending, is peaceful. The breakfast buffet is beyond satisfactory, considering the variety of food selection. I would definitely go back if given the chance in the future, and would recommend the same to others.

Good location near Taipei Station but no window in the room so you can't tell is day or night and the toilet is translucent glass so will be problem for friend or colleagues if share room. Toilet don't have shelve to place toiletries and no mirror in the room for dress up.

I’ve been wanting to stay at this hotel for a long time and I finally had the chance during my trip to Taiwan. The hotel is convenient located near the Taipei Main Station and bus station and the MRT station. Hence is extremely convenient to get around. The room I got was quite spacious and clean. I believe it has been refurbished as the interior looks new. It is equipped with a smart tv so I could stream videos on YouTube all day long. The only disappoin**ent was that I did not get the room with the view of the Taipei Main station. The hotel staff were very friendly too. Amenities wise, there is no shortage of f&b establishments located near the hotel and most of them are very good. This hotel is one of the more affordable 5 star hotels in this area. Hence it’s a no brainer to pick this hotel over the rest. Overall, I’ve had a pleasant stay here I will definitely return to this hotel for my future trips.
