Takua Pa Hotels with Gym

I booked a regular room for 1,400 RMB a night on Ctrip. FOOD: The food was really unpalatable. I ordered three dishes in the picture and took a bite of each one. The taste was wrong and it was very unpalatable! The free bread basket was thought to be moldy. Papaya salad, whoever eats it will be disappointed. Checked in and waited 25 minutes. There is no service at all. There were not many guests on the day I checked in. I saw on Ctrip that there were rooms with sea views. I asked the front desk if I could upgrade the room? Answer: No. There was a very damp musty smell upon entering the room. When I checked in, I found that the light in the room was broken. People from the engineering department repaired it for 20 minutes while I was present. Why book this hotel? Because it is very close to the pier to Similan, it takes 40 minutes to drive. If I go to Similan Island next time, I will definitely not stay in this hotel.

Stay in this beautiful resort only if you’re ready to be spoilt by the amazing hospitality of their staff. It’s located in the middle of nowhere, but that doesn’t matter as the resort itself has everything you’ll need. We took the all in package. Rooms are luxurious, very clean, very well kept. The resort itself is very well kept, pool, beach, bar, playroom. Very family friendly. Stayed here twice, both during peak (March) and low peak(June), both occasions felt very different, i personally preferred the peak, however one thing that did not change was the hospitality of their amazing staff! A special shout out to Kwan for professionally handling the tantrum of a hungry 35yr old (me). Great selection of food in their restaurants too. And when you need a laugh, Sit@Aon will crack you up. Will always come back.

Good value for money. Rooms are clean, spacious and regularly cleaned. The territory is small, but well-groomed. Breakfast is quite normal in terms of variety of dishes - not luxurious of course, but for the price the hotel provides enough. Of the minuses: sunbeds are stuck on the beach very close to each other due to the narrow beach area. The sea in March was unclear with jellyfish.

Great location 2 hours north of Phuket. Was away from the crowded hustle and bustle of Phuket. Awesome swimming pool. 2 restaurant options. Backs on to beach and several other resorts nearby. Plenty of beach bars. Staff were fantastic and could not do enough for us. Thai people are so friendly. Be prepared for plenty of walking if your accommodation is at the front of the resort - 800m walk to the main swimming pool and Green Mango Restaurant and beach at the rear of the resort. Would go again. Ideal for families or couples alike.

A truly fantastic 8 day stay in the phenomenal Sky Villa 12@ Devasom Khao Lak, Thailand. Amazing food, customer service and truly spectacular views have made this holiday so memorable. All the staff have been friendly, attentive and reactive, but special thanks to Manager Chay, Butlers Nicky and Max, and reception staff Suk and Tan.

We spent our last 5 nights of a 2 week holiday in The Khaolak Paradise Resort. It was pretty much perfect! As the title states, there are lots of steps and steep bits getting to and from the lobby and some of the rooms towards the back of this place. But - even though I am not the most mobile - that wasn’t an issue as the benefits of staying here outweigh the issues with steps. We were upgraded to a larger “jungle” room. It was huge and had everything you want for sure. Comfy beds and all rooms (I think) have a balcony. The aircon works great and the only issue we had was the fan making a noise at night - so we switched it off as you don’t need it with aircon. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. We saw the garden team every day, making sure everything was great. The housekeeping team were also excellent. In fact - every member of staff were superb. Our first night was the Thai celebration of Loy Krathong - so there was live music followed by the whole staff doing some type of entertaining, be it dance or just saying hello. The rest of our time here flew by, even with us doing little more than lounging by the pool or on the beach. The pool is quite large for a resort like this - and you can get some cheeky locals sharing the pool with you! (Water Monitor Lizards) … even though there is a lovely pond with plenty of fish right next to the pool. The food is excellent, with a very good breakfast buffet. There is a happy hour from 4.30pm … with 40% of many cocktails and beers. If we ever return to Khoalak … this will be the place we stay. Their airport transfer is also very reasonable. Thank you to all at Paradise … it certainly was Paradise for us for 5 nights.

I booked two reservations, and the previous one has been reviewed in detail. I didn't take pictures of the facilities in the room, but it was the same as in the pictures. Each room has a bathtub and a private swimming pool (quite large). When we went there, the boutique, coffee shop, SPA and children's playground were not ready yet, but it did not affect the stay. I ate at both restaurants, the price was reasonable and the portion was very large! !

Great hotel, but maybe a bit soulless. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and we agreed that the room was one of the best we have stayed in. The hotel itself is huge with amazing facilities, lots of restaurants, and plenty to keep you and the kids busy. The beach is wonderful with loads of free equipment to use. The pools are also great, and there is something for everyone. The main issue I have the JW, is that it doesn't have any soul. You could be anywhere in the world. I am quite sure that the majority of people that stay at the JW don't leave the resort. Why would they? The JW caters for every Western style of cuisine in a safe environment, it caters perfectly for the self entitled spoilt children of middle class parents who are quite happy to pay European prices for their food and drink. We ate once in the Olive, which was very good. But why would would eat in the other restaurants, when 2 mins down the beach are some excellent authentic Thai places. Where you can drink (the same) beer and cocktails at a fraction of the price. You can eat amazing local food, rather than pizza, burgers and steak at the JW. If you like to play it ”safe” in a controlled environment, where your every whim is catered for, then book the JW. But don't expect it to give you a true ”Thai experience”

We are coming every year in Bangsak Village since our retirement. Every time it’s a never ending enchantment. The place, the quietness, the wonderful garden, the uncrowded beach, and, above all, the friendly, attentive and competent staff in all areas of the resort. We feel at home at Bangsak. Village. A special mention for the restaurant, who has improve all along the years to become a perfect place to stay for a nice lunch or dinner, and where the staff is maintaining a very good atmosphere and the food is very good.
