CRU Hotel

This old fashioned hotel has an excellent location on the main street in the Tallinn old town. There are restaurants and bars just outside the main entrance. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and atmospheric. Breakfast rather limited in an old Soviet style.

This hotel is situated in the old town. It's a perfect base to explore the city from. It's a very old house, transformed into a wonderful old quirky boutique hotel, run really well. There are plenty of stairs though, even to get to reception. Less abeled may struggle, I didn't see a lift. Our room (9) was a little dark of natural light but had plenty of lights to make up for it. A large room with a four poster & a settee. Tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge , safe, dressing gown & slippers & a sensible hairdryer. At the back of the hotel so quiet. Nice shower / bathroom with underfloor heating. Beds were comfortable. A bottle of water each replaced daily if needed. Our deal included breakfast, which had good hours of service & plenty of choice, buffet style. Staff were friendly & helpful, they looked after our bags all day on our last day which was such a help. We explored all of Tallinn on foot from this location, there's plenty of bars & restaurants nearby, you are just in the pedestrian zone. Recommend the free walking tour (tip at the end) that leaves from just outside the information centre, which is not far away. Times vary with seasons but the IC will tell you the times. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!

Loves place with a lot of charm. Perfect location inside old town and pricing was very reasonable. And the staff was helpful and accommodating for special needs. Breakfast was solid if not flashy. Overall a great experience. I would book this place again.

Great location in the heart of the Old Town. Reception Office were especially accommodating. Very interesting old building. No lift however. Also noteworthy, the Cru restaurant was excellent. We didn’t find anything comparable in the area.

This hotel is on a main pedestrian street in Old Town, Tallinn; The Bold ride service dropped us off about a block away since he could not drive to the front door. A very helpful woman pointed the way; We found so many people to be friendly and helpful; including the welcome by Art (named after Art Garfunkle by his Dad who was a fan), and other reception staff; and dining room staff. A very pleasant stay.

The hotel is really well located and overall nice and clean but the sound proofing between the rooms is what is to be expected for a building that age, quite poor. We stayed in room 15 (2 adults and 1 child) and I was glad we just had a carry on each because the room is on the smaller side. It still did the job for the 2 nights we spent. The breakfast that is included is lovely and I do like that because it is a small hotel, you don't hear foot traffic and doors slamming in the hallways like you sometimes do in bigger hotels. It makes up for the sound proofing.

This hotel is an absolute hidden gem. The traditional, immaculately clean and cozy rooms and amazing staff made our stay so enjoyable. You really get the old town feeling while you get to properly relax too, since the location is also 10/10. Will absolutely return!

I spent four nights at this classy hotel and had a great stay. Location: Excellent. Staff : Great. Art at the reception was super helpful. Showed me multiple rooms so I could pick the best one. Room: Bit small. Clean . Comfortable. Breakfast: Is very basic. Decor: Excellent. Very novel. Restaurant: DId not eat. But, good reputation. Overall, very happy. Only thing to note is no elevators. 10 steps to reception. Then another 10 to reach base level, Then some more depending on room. Dragging luggage and also every time you go out, you must navigate these.
