Convenient location downtown for our sports event at University of Tampa. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good overall with decent hot options. Just know that parking is TIGHT. They have a garage with a small amount of spots reserved for the hotel but they fill up quickly and are insanely narrow. A good portion of them are not even able to be parked in unless you have a motorcycle. If the garage is full, there is an open side lot diagonally across from the hotel that is also for the hotel and we luckily were always able to find a spot there but still very tight. All parking is 25 a day which isn’t surprising given you are right downtown.
One big disappointment of this property is that our bathroom in the one bedroom suite with a balcony we booked was absolutely terrible in condition. The shower rod was sagging and barely hanging on. It had been “fixed” multiple times given all the holes there. The shower wall had a huge crack in it, all the seams had been caulked multiple times and the drain was broke and a mess. The tub surface was completely dull and worn off, which caused it to look dirty. It reminded me of a bathroom you would find in an old rundown roadside motel, not a Marriott. It shouldn’t even be in service until they can renovate it. The hotel is definitely old and the rooms need updated very soon. Main areas were nice and seemed well taken care of. I would likely find somewhere else to stay next time.
