Paradise Tourist Park

We booked into the park without a prior booking, which is our normal thing. The staff were great and facilities immaculate. The shops and parks along the Peel river are an easy walk even for us 70yo’s. We went to the Powerhouse Museum which was fantastic. A trip up to the lookout was great and of course the obligatory photo at the Golden Guitar.

Nice park with good facilities. Friendly reception and clean and well set up cabins. Good location too! Central to facilities and shopping and a good location to visit the Tamworth attractions. Park itself is well maintained and clean. All in all - good option and value for money

We were somewhat disappointed with our time here, which was week 2 of the Country Music Festival. We were in the overflow area and felt somewhat isolated from the facilities and ambience normally found in a Big 4 Park. Really, all we had was a patch of grass and limited amenities (though they were adequate) We were very disappointed that the park offered no entertainment whatsoever during our stay (other smaller parks had local entertainment daily), no food vans or BBQ get together, nothing! Generators were allowed in our area for 8 hours, fair enough people have to charge their batteries when camping off grid but our neighbour (and others) had them on all afternoon whilst they sat in air conditioned comfort whilst we endured the non stop noise, there was no peaceful happy hour until they left for their evening out. I think this should be capped at 2 hours Max each day. It was very disappointing that rubbish was not sorted. There was not even a separate area for 10c bottles or cans. This was a missed opportunity for charity and such a terrible waste to go in the mini skip which was all that was available. All in all I would probably choose a different camp site next trip.

Paradise caravan park. We attend the Tamworth Country Music Festival which runs for 10 days. The Tamworth Country Music Festival is an annual Australian music festival held for 10 days from Friday to Sunday in mid to late January each year, sometimes including Australia Day, in Tamworth, New South Wales. The management of the park told us we had to pay a minimum of 14 nights an addition $304 a total of $1074. I can understand paying a minimum stay but not in addition of the 10 days of the festival and at the full rate! We heard from others staying in the park they had been coming here for 20 years and got a discount rate on the nights that weren't the nights of the festival. We didn't arrive until the day after the festival started. We found we were put in a very, very hot location no shade at all. But we were put close to the amenities. We booked 9 months in advance and we were told then we had to pay for minimum stay of 14 nights. The park is in a good location but disappointed in needing to pay $309 more than we should have or at the very least a discounted rate. We attended many paid events and ate out everyday and every meal. We certainly supported the community ie accomodation, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The people of the town were very hospitable and it was a well run caravan park and event. Our only gripe was the additional days stay we didn't need outside of the festival. Couldn't get our deposit back either $20 for the 2 bathroom keys. We weren't told you needed to do that the night before you left - but then how were we to use the bathroom!!!

This park was one of the best we have ever stayed in. The staff went the extra mile to lengthen our stay. The cabin was clean,bed comfortable, had everything you would need for a week long stay. Two bedroom cabin was right on the Peel river, very serene & restful, loads of bird life. Just perfect!

Pros - Staff over phone very friendly and helpful Comfy bed with electric blankets Central location Cons- Staff on arrival after hours were unhelpful Fridge leaking water on floor of villa Outdoor patio light didn't work until you opened the villa and inserted key Air-conditioner did not warm the cabin Hot water system only allowed for one 4 minute per day before it ran out Bedroom tv remote did not work Street noise very loud I booked a riverview villa by phone and was not told that the tourist park was on one side of a main road and the riverview villas were on the other. To get to the children's playground and pool children would have to cross a main road. These villas are also on the river rapids with no barrier so for young children this would need to be made aware of at booking which it wasn't. When we arrived just after office hours our key wasn't in the lock box. I called the available number and a staff member came out handed the key to me and when I asked where the villa is located she told me 'I don't know. I don't keep that information in my brain'. Riverview Villa #26 is set right beside the main road and away from all the other villas. It is dark, isolated, and noisy. Do not book this villa!!! The other villas would have been okay location but again they are away from the rest of the park and reception. We were travelling in a group but booked separately and we were all located in cabins across the main road from each other as we didn't know the park was set up that way. I shortened my stay by one night because of the reasons above. I explained to staff in writing at check out but was not given any response.

Stayed here whilst visiting friends in a river front villa what an amazing park well located ,close to town super clean ,comfy beds and the best wifi we have had since leaving our home . It felt like a home away home with everything you could possibly need.For those with caravans it has the best camp kitchen and facilities we have ever seen .You can tell this is an owner operator park who ovisiously love what they do .Thanks for us we will be back 😀

Our little family camped in the additional area (I don't think this area is used outside of the Festival). It was fairly quiet, brightly lit and there were small facilities, but we preferred to use the larger ones in the main campground. Spacious and clean, they were welcoming and felt new. We spent most of the week out and used the site as a base, keep in mind it gets pretty cold at night at this time of the year. Staff was good but there is room for improvement in terms of communication.

Having stayed here for several long periods since June 2021 I made a complaint about lack of weekend cleaning. The owner confronted me in front of several couples near at our van. She stood within 1ft of me and tried to intimidate me. It was very unprofessional how she treated me. She then returned with a credit and told my husband we had to leave next morning and never return. She also applied that to my son who had stayed with his boys in a cabin twice in the last few weeks. We are both 70 year old and couldn’t believe her attitude. She only needed to say she was sorry we were unhappy and would deal with it. Our neighbours were disgusted with her.
