Tavistock House Hotel

When I read the 9.9 review before booking I was doubtful and was expecting disappointment. To our delight we found that the welcome, cleanliness, organisation, comfort and style easily justify a whole 10, if not even more. Congratulations and thank you, Bradley

A beautifully restored townhouse hotel with very comfortable rooms offering every modern amenity. Very luxurious - eg Nespresso machines, an iPad, a large flat screen wall mounted TV etc. Very comfortable - top quality linens and upholstery. A short walk into lovely Tavistock town centre with all its dining options. No cooked breakfast is available, but a high quality “choose the night before” menu is served. A small parking area at the back of the hotel is a great boon - on the road parking is not easy here. We have visited the Tavistock House Hotel several times now and will certainly be back. You always get a warm welcome, the rooms are clean and well equipped - all at a very reasonable price. The breakfast is limited to a continental breakfast but is delicious and we find it's perfect. The hotel is ideally situated for the surrounding countryside (including Dartmoor, of course) and it is a short stroll into the delightful town of Tavistock. The town park is opposite the hotel and is great for a short evening stroll by the river. The hotel has parking, which is always a bonus!

Beautiful building and room. All looked and felt top notch. Service excellent too. Gave us excellent recommendations for dinner choice at local restaurants all within walking distance. Great car park at rear. Very convenient and short walk into town.

We were warmly greeted by Bradley, the owner, who kindly helped us with our luggage. Our room was extremely tastefully furnished, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with freshly brewed coffee, fresh fruit salad, croissants etc etc. Altogether, a most enjoyable stay. We will definitely be returning.

Brad, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly. He couldn't do enough to help. After I accidentally left my phone charger in the room, he posted it back to me promptly. He gave us tips on places to visit and where to eat in Tavistock. The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Stand outs were the Nespresso coffee machine, the softest bed linen, very effective black out blinds, super comfortable mattress and fluffy towels. Breakfast was delicious. The homemade granola was a nice touch, as was the egg station for boiling your own eggs. We would definitely return.

This hotel is as near perfect as you can get. Everything is spotlessly clean, everything you need is there, including things you didn't know you needed! Brad is a perfect host with his natural warm, friendly charm, effortlessly making you feel comfortable but never imposing himself. I don't normally stay in hotels but if I do they're usually larger one's where I can lose myself and go unnoticed. This hotel is different. It is small, quiet and friendly and rather nice to be seen by the other guests and the hosts as everyone seems to feel comfortable and relaxed. Reasonably priced, too. I won't have any hesitation in booking this hotel again.

Brad was a brilliant host & helped me have a really lovely stay. The hotel is a very short walk from the town centre & has all the features you could want. Would highly recommend.

Very warm welcome from host. Really impressive walk up to entrance of building and equally nice once inside . Bedroom and bathroom all really clean and nice touches on the decor. Would definitely stop again if in the area
