This hotel has excellent location with magnificent view on old Tbilisi. But that is all I can positively say about this hotel. The rooms are large, but uncomfortable. Very poor breakfast. The rooms have a very heavy smell of the restaurant. A/C doesn't work at all, just create a noise with no effect. Avoid this hotel!

I stayed at the Kopala Hotel pre and post a horseback riding trek and thoroughly enjoyed my stay both times. Although they had lost my reservation the first time they still were able to accommodate me in a very nice room and the price was very reasonable. I loved the traditional rooms with beautiful wood decor/trim, very nice bathrooms, and both rooms I stayed in had beautiful views over Tbilisi. The restaurant and breakfast room also have stunning views over the city and the restaurant is very good. While some of the reviews I had read prior mentioned staff not being friendly, I found everyone I encountered to be very kind and helpful. The man at the reception desk even spent a long time problem solving an issue with using a local SIM card with my phone for me, which I really appreciated! I would happily return to stay here again.

A very atmospheric hotel with a wonderful view of the city. A little noisy to sleep, but I really liked the location and the helpfulness of the staff. Breakfast is average, our room was large with a bed and an office.

This is not the first time I have stayed here, the view from the window is captivating, the hotel’s very good location, responsive and attentive staff. The hotel is not new but quite clean and comfortable. The rooms are cleaned every day. On the top floor there is a restaurant with live music. Most often there are no places in the hotel; it is better to book in advance.

We were thrilled by the view from the balcony. The room has everything you need, including a bathrobe, fridge, and enough power outlets. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Every request, even the smallest, was dealt with immediately. The room itself, as well as the bed linen and towels, were very clean. Although the hotel is showing its age, the hotel staff make every effort to make guests feel very comfortable. The breakfast is not varied, but there is enough to start the day in a good mood and with energy, especially if you enjoy it while looking at the view.

When ordering, please specify that you want a room in the same building as in the picture. Because, under one name, there are actually 4 hotels (in one of which, as I understand it, tourists with a positive test for Corona are accommodated) And these are 4 big differences. And not on the ground floor. The peculiarity of the building is that it stands on a slope. From the entrance it seems like only 2.5 floors. From the side of the hill - like 5. Zero - almost a basement. Rooms overlooking the staff smoking room, with huge climate control units under the windows. We spent two days in this one. Then, as compensation, we were transferred to a wonderful two-room suite with a huge view balcony. (Judging by the dialogues overheard upon arrival and departure, this is normal practice at the hotel.) Don’t give up - and enjoy it. Vintage with all modern amenities. 2 Breakfast is quite tolerable, the main thing about it is the view of the city). The restaurant on the roof has a beautiful view, which is why everyone goes there. But, in general, it’s delicious. 3. The entire old city is within walking distance from the hotel, the funicular, the metro too. When going down to the center, do not pass by the wine and tourist store Cha-cha tour. (right before Metekhi at the turn). Come in, meet the wonderful hosts and immediately go to the balcony. There they will bring you both chacha and wine. And if you are too lazy to go to a restaurant, they will order lunch or dinner. They also took an individual trip to the mountains. The price turned out to be 5 dollars difference from the group price.. 4. If the plane is at night (as was our case), then there is a 24-hour shop: exit the alley where the hotel is, turn left, go to the square where the metro is. Through the underground passage on the left side of the square you will see it. Frankly speaking, it’s not a dream store, but there is cognac, wine, cookies, and minimal food there. There are several exchangers near the metro.

Had to wait 1 hour for dessert. Remains of the main course also remained on the table for 1 hour. Lazy and unfriendly waiters. They stand behind a glass smoking instead of cleaning up. Wine was included in menu. We were the last table. Their last bottle before our group was almost finished. So we got almost nothing. When we commented about this, they brought a full bottle, but we had to pay extra for it
