Fairly unexciting hotel but quiet and clean and great breakfast. Nice pool and gym. Aimed more at conferences and group events than tourists as breakfast ends at 930

I organised a group of 16 golfers for 2 rounds of golf and dinner with overnight accommodation and breakfast. Tee boxes were very poor as were the bunkers. No or broken rakes. Poorly looked after golf course but have to accept it’s a municipal style course which is designed for groups. Room was good clean and no issues. The evening meal was extremely poor. Very small portions. Very little choice. Breakfast was a buffet so not a lot can go wrong. We would not go back and would not recommend the resort mainly due to the poor dinner and presentation of the bunkers and tee boxes. Buggies were available at £40 which we thought was a little steep.

My Wife and I stayed here for our 1st anniversary and loved it. Totally chilled out and relaxing even though there was a prom night on, of which we didn't hear. They made us feel very welcome even though they were busy. The food is delicious and couldn't fault the service by Sophie who tended to us while we were dining. The breakfast was a help yourself which was delicious and the variety of food was amazing as my wife is diabetic and often cannot eat some of the breads or cereals in hotels, we were pleasantly surprised that she was catered for. Gemma checked us out and was a smiley lady who was lovely. Will certainly be returning for a mini break here

Very clean, good breakfast choices and evening meal. Great location with stunning views. Very attentive staff nothing was to much trouble Downside, 2 barstaff for a full hotel, wedding and 2 functions with Euro football veiwers meant long ques at peak times. Large pool and long hall corridors, lift was out of order.

Stayed here in a group of 6 for a day day (2 night) golf trip. Room was comfortable and well furnished with all amenities (fridge, kettle tea dan coffee etc). Air conditioning was available in the room but a little noisy, so opened a window instead. Food was a bit hit and miss. The starters were very good. However the main menu options were slightly problematic. Fish and Chips was on the cremated side. The burger (£20!) was solid rather than succulent, and a couple of the party had the roast chicken risotto which was grim - no taste at all - both left most of it. Although it shouldn't have been an excuse, there were two larger golf parties in (one of 30 odd) and one night a school prom with 160 - it may have impacted the food but it shouldn't have in a resort like this. The terrace bar (in fact all bars) shut at 11am on the first night and on the second night when the prom was on, there was only one bar (by the restaurant) open which meant a) it was VERY busy and there were limited seating options in that bar, and b) it was VERY noisy. Not sure if it shut at 11 as we left at that time. Didn't use the spa so can't comment. Golf Pro shop excellent to deal with and the golf/course was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. Plenty of parking, although the place was busy all three days we were there.

Disappointing experience for the price we paid. The staff were lovely, and were really helpful when we arrived to make sure we could get as much time as possible in the pool before the end of the time children were permitted. However, the ladies showers smelt of urine and the pool was heavily over-chlorinated. The towels were scratchy and thin. Our room was a clean standard room with a bed for our daughter. This bed was a basic camp bed with an inch of padding, squeezed against a noisy aircon unit. She refused to use it. The bathroom was tiny and cramped, with a chipped door. For dinner, the restaurant was full, so we rushed to get a seat in the bar area to eat. Both restaurant and bar seemed very small for the size of the hotel, and quite basic. We were seated around a cramped tiny table to eat. We had to move as smokers left the doors open, allowing smoke to drift through the bar - even to our second choice of table. Being a golf hotel, there were lots of large, loud, intimidating groups of men. The choice of food was limited, took a long time to come, and was not especially good. My side of the mattress felt dipped where people would sit to get in. With noisy aircon and sharing a bed with our daughter, it was not a great night. Breakfast was good, and again, staff could not be more helpful, but overall a very disappointing stay: I would not recommend this for families.

What a beautiful place, you could be fooled into thinking you’re a million miles from any busy town. Beautiful and peaceful grounds, with loads of wildlife. The hotel itself is beautiful too, very well equipped with quirky modern features hidden in period decor. We had the master suite which had beautiful oak beams, and the biggest bed I’ve ever seen. The bathroom is modern and spacious, and super clean. We had a stunning meal in the restaurant steak cooked perfectly, and I can recommend the chocolate fondant with honeycomb ice cream. Which was lovely. Sophie our waitress needs to try this as we couldnt quite express how lovely it was!!! Incidentally Sophie was lovely. Breakfast is a help yourself style and all fresh. I was so pleased to find a really good range of Gluten free and Dairy free alternatives, not many places offer that without having to ask. Gemma Checked us out, she was lovely, very cheerful and professional. We can’t wait to stay again!!
