Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa

I had the pleasure in staying at Le Meridien Maldives last week and I cannot explain enough how blown away I was by the team and hotel. This hotel needs to be rebranded to either a St. Regis or Ritz-Carlton. The service here is unmatched. I have stayed at many 5-star hotels around the world and Le Meridien Maldives is truly top 3. Nafiu, Azzam, Chef Tasdan and so many others are some of the best hoteliers I have ever come across. The product, the food and beverage offerings, the service are all impeccable. Do not hesitate and just do yourself a favor and book your stay here.

A simply fantastic resort in the Maldives - it has the beautiful beaches and very nice coral with lots of diverse sea life in the reef. Special thanks particularly to Ali for organising everything for us and all the staff at Le Meridien Maldives who were absolutely amazing, they took such great care of me and my partner. The chefs here in particular are incredible everything was so fresh and flavorful. The staff and resort made this a birthday to remember! Hope to come back in the future.

I am getting so emotional writing this review as the resort provided a once in a lifetime experience!!! WOW!!! Stayed in the 2 bed villa with private pool…. You can see BOTH sunrise and sunset from this location… you must stay here. Thankful the resort recognised my platinum loyalty status with this room upgrade. Kenneth gave us very warm welcome and send off, while Coral was always checking in to make sure we are comfortable. Highly recommend you do the photoshoot option here because you will never be able to get these kind of memories captured anywhere else ****my only suggestion is you carefully plan your trip around the seaplane timings, please be careful of this detail. First of all I have to start off by saying that this was a great hotel and that we really enjoyed our stay. The “negatives” in the following review definitely didn’t overshadow the “positives”. The rooms We booked the 2 Bedroom Beach Villa with pool and were more than satisfied. The rooms look even better in real life and the bathrooms are absolutely beautiful. They are separated with a double door system that can be closed from both sides which makes it perfect for families. The second bedroom also has two separate beds from which you can see the ocean. The master bedroom however overlooked the pool. The pool is unfortunately very small and shallow and therefore heats up super quickly- even on cloudy days. Most of the bathroom essentials that you could potentially forget at home are provided by the hotel (like toothbrush and toothpaste, a razor, a comb and all of the usual toiletries provided by hotels). The rooms also come with two umbrellas each, a flashlight and an iron. Adding to that the cleaning service was excellent and even included a daily cleaning of the garden. Beach towels are provided separately in the bathroom but also at all of the shared pools. The resort You can reach the resort by water plane which takes about 45 minutes depending on if you have a direct flight or not. Since the weather in the Maldives is becoming more and more unpredictable you do have to keep in mind that you might not be able to reach the resort immediately if the weather doesn’t allow flying. We were lucky enough to fly pretty quickly but because the water was too rough we had to land at another resort and had to be picked up by boat. Once there the resort is very well looked after. There is a (unfortunately very empty) bar with a very good DJ that is there most days of the week. Like most resorts Le Meridien Maldives also has a gym, a spa, a beachvolleyball court and a water sports center. I can definitely recommend booking a shark snorkeling trip with jet skies. There’s also a house reef which is very beautiful and contains a lot of animals. We were fortunate enough to snorkel with sharks, turtles, stingrays and a lot of very pretty fish but we were told that there have also been sightings of lobsters and mantas. Unfortunately you do have to pay for boat trips to the reef. You are allowed to swim there yourself but since it’s not really explained in the beginning we had quite a hard time getting back to shore in non optimal conditions. I would recommend entering the water at the end of the pier and swimming from there since swimming from the beach takes away a lot of energy. Additionally I would wait for very good weather/ sea conditions and only go there if you’re a good swimmer (don’t take a child). Even in perfect conditions it’s quite exhausting. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at this beautiful resort and our experience was perfect from start to finish. We were welcomed graciously and treated like royalty every day. The staff service was amazing; special shout-out to the Chef's (Pradeep Poojary, Suraj and Asaf) who worked tirelessly to prepare such tasty food, and all of the pleasant staff members who made sure nothing was lacking during our stay (Stessey, Hafiz, Shifaz, Gerryd, Murad, Jezzika, Yusaf, Krishnan, all of the life guards and buggy drivers). The food quality was perfect (large portions and delicious drinks). The fitness center looked brand new and had plenty of equipment. The dive center staff (Emma) took great care of us during the excursions (we did snorkling and dolphin cruise ). We recommend this resort to everyone and look forward to one day returning.

It was a wonderful experience in Le meridian Maldives.The staffs were amazing especially the Chef Pradeep Poojari, his food was amazing. Chef Suraj and Jennifer were so caring and supportive. The coordination of the management team while going back was so good because of their effort we didn’t miss the flight . I will strongly recommend this hotel to my friends .

The time spent here has been amazing. The location is marvellous (very easy to see fish and corals quite everywhere), the food is good and the staff is always eager to support you for any need or desire.
