I stayed here at the end of a few months' stay in Tokyo/Yokohama, as it was close to my parents' house. I paid just over 5,000 JPY/night on Agoda for a week in a row. Perhaps because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it felt cheap. Check-in is all done by machine. There are about three staff members on the ground floor, in case the automatic system cannot handle the situation. It's close to JR Ueno Station. There are convenience stores (7/11 and Family Mart) within a few minutes' walk. Of course, the downtown area is also close, so you won't have any trouble finding something to eat or drink. It was a bit difficult to get up the footbridge with my suitcase, as I didn't want to wander around for the first time, but I think someone who knows the area would be able to move around on flat ground. The room is small, just under 15m2, but it's probably standard for this area. The room I stayed in was square, so I didn't feel stuffy. For some reason, there were two large mirrors in the room (there was another regular-sized one in the bathroom). There was an out-of-place-size TV, which could be connected to YouTube, etc. I was grateful for this, as I like watching YouTube on TV. The room was clean, and it seems that they clean it frequently even if you stay multiple nights (they say they clean it on the fourth day). Of course, the room temperature can be adjusted. The room I stayed in had a window, but because it was attached to the neighboring property, there was no view. The large public bath has an indoor bath, an outdoor bath, and two additional Goemon baths. There is no shift for men and women, and the usage hours are quite long (morning and afternoon to late night), so I think it is a good deal for this price range. On the other hand, the drink sales corner is not very well stocked. It is probably assumed that you will buy drinks at a nearby convenience store and bring them in. There is a Dotour next door, so you can take a morning bath, buy coffee, and then work in your room. The wifi is fast, and you can connect your laptop*2, tablet, and smartphone at the same time and watch videos without any disruption. Overall, if you come here as a solo traveler or for business purposes, with the intention of staying at a business hotel, you will not be disappointed. Personally, I would consider this as my regular place to stay when I stay in the Ueno area in the future (I like large public baths, so this is my second choice, along with the Dormy Inn in Okachimachi). I think it's a good hotel with good value for money.
