I had an exceptional stay at Petit Palau during five days recently. The whole staff was friendly, sincere and always welcoming, including the breakfast and cleaning personnel. There are many things to praise, but a few things deserve to be highlighted. First of all the bed, it was fantastic, super comfortable! The shower was modern and had a luxurious touch to it. The overall cleanliness of the hotel should be mentioned, it was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was varied, delicious and healthy with an assortment of fresh fruits and local produce in addition to all else that was included. Lastly, since Blanes was blessed with warm, sunny spring weather during my stay, I had the pleasure of enjoying it from my private 6th floor balcony with rooftop views! Exceptional from all levels , the location is just in-front of the beach and with a magical view. In the center of everything around restaurants and shops. The staff are amazing , very helpful and accommodating for any recommendations and reservations needed. The interior of the hotel is just indescribable with amazing view of the sea. Every room has different unique finishing and very clean. we stayed there with the family for 1 week and we really wished to stay longer as it really felt home. The breakfast is very fresh and coffee is a must try ! Highly recommended and definitely it will be our destination. Thank you Maria and all staff for this unique stay!

Theres no denying the staff at front desk are receptive, attentive, friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. The location is superb. The dining area allows you to look over at the promenade....But I wish there were some regulation / international standard with the star rating of a hotel, especially when you chose the hotel based on star rating. I would not consider Hotel Horitzo to be a 4 star hotel, compared to other hotels I've stayed at ranging from 2 star -5 star. This is due to the sheer fact that the rooms were fairly basic. A mini fridge with no snacks, drinks or appliances. There is also no water readily available for guests throughout the day. Just breakfast and maybe dinner. Upon that said, there is a small supermarket called Condis 3 minutes from the hotel, as soon as you exit the hotel, immediate right up the road till the zebra crossing left on the right. . Not far at all. The price of the hotel is based on its location. Directly across the beach. That's it's main selling point. Some rooms may come with a power shower, very impressive others do not. If you do not get a beach front view you most likely will end up looking at the local area ( residents flats). Not picturesque at all. The variety for breakfast is satisfactory. Quite limited. There are few restaurants along the beach front, dotted around the beach front which enables you to experience Blanes day and night. Blanes is a lovely place for couples, family and the elderly. I'd have had my expectations matched if it said 3 stars.

We were a little confused on arrival as we’d been informed that the hotel was located on the beach, but hey ho it wasn’t far too walk. We had 2 suites with 3 adults in each. The guy on reception was lovely , one of the best I’ve encountered,and I’ve stayed in many hotels worldwide. I wish I’d taken his name to give him a special mention but we never saw him again. The rooms are spacious but tired. I struggled stepping over the side of the bath into the shower as there is nothing to hold onto. The sink backed up in the kitchen after rinsing a cup but was quickly sorted by the maid. There are no cups or utensils in the room so even after hiring a kettle we had to go out and purchase cups to allow us to sit and have a coffee at night or morning when the restaurant/bar was closed. There are no views , all rooms look out onto other hotels so expect music / noise until the early hours. The hotel claims to be 4 star but it’s more like a 2. We stayed all inclusive, the food was dire. Cold and insipid, the best thing we ate during our entire stay was the onion soup if you put plenty of seasoning in. Breakfast looked like it had been cooked the night before then stuck under the hot plates to warm up. Thankfully you could make your own toast. The young girl who did the entertainment at night was wasted in the hotel. She had an amazing singing voice and was so full of fun. The young waiter/ glass collector was also lovely , we had such a laugh with these 2. The bar staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered to be there. Very limited choice at the bar, which they blamed on winding down for end of season which didn’t help the 6 of us. The barman in the restaurant should have been upstairs in the bar because he was fab. The pool is tiny with very few sun beds, there is a sun terrace but as you have to go all the way from floor 7 to 0 to get a drink ( pool bar only open mid season ) we decided to go to the beach everyday. You have to book your sun loungers at the hotel before heading off. It’s only a short walk but as a train line runs through the resort you need to be able to negotiate steps in the underpass. Not very good for anyone with limited mobility. There is a free bus ( but only mid season ). We had booked breakfast on the morning of our departure due to having a diabetic in our party. Our taxi driver called to say he would be collecting us earlier than planned, I nipped to reception to ask if it would be possible just to have one croissant in order that they could take their insulin. You’d think I’d asked for the world. The receptionist Maria tried to inform me that there would be no one in the kitchens even though the restaurant opened in 30 minutes. She was rude and abrupt stating we should have booked a takeaway breakfast. As we didn’t know the taxi driver would be altering the time why would we ? I even offered to nip downstairs and grab her one myself but she wasn’t having any of it. Eventually a breakfast bag was delivered to reception before

Really family friendly hotel with a great range of food, one of the best all inclusives I’ve been to with quality of food. Having coeliac disease was great here, the staff are very allergen aware and would show me at the start of every meal what I can have or not. Only let down was the amount of snack/dessert options for gluten free. Some of the options available seemed like they should or could be gf so it would have been amazing to have a few more options. I also think certain foods could be kept next to each other to avoid cross contamination worry. Would also be amazing to have gluten free cones etc and more options for ice cream etc like seperate scoops. Though the positives are that they do make you gluten free pasta/pizza etc when requested. Lots of options with pools and slides, only negative would be the temperature of the outdoor pools. They were too cold for my toddler which meant we spent most of the time in the indoor pool. The kids club and entertainment is incredible, the staff are amazing especially Rosita who was great with our little boy! The shows and evening entertainment is great for this type of hotel, there is something for everyone. I do think the hotel staff (mainly older bar staff and reception staff) could be friendlier. One of the gentleman behind the bar literally argued with my husband about his beer not tasting nice (came from behind the bar over to our table quite aggressively and basically said he’s wrong), rather than just replacing when we had paid for it (we were not all inclusive). The location is great if you like to explore, lots of shops nearby and the train station is around a 10 min walk away. 1 hour 25 to Barcelona city. Beach is across the road. We visited a beach bar called NUI beach (around a 10-15 min walk), this was beautiful if you like nice food and cocktails, would highly recommend! Overall we had a fantastic first family holiday so thank you to GoldenTaurus for making it so special.

OMG I saw these negative reviews few days before my holiday and I tried changing hotels but it was too late, I was prepared for the worst but to my greatest surprise I was wowed positively! Went from london with 3 kids and we had an amazing time! The front pool by the entrance looked more busy than the other one , the food was amazing , lots of variety , the staff were nice and helpful , rooms cleaned daily , slept in 507 and I didn’t hear noises from Next rooms like other reviews , it was amazing ! Daily entertainment downstairs , supermarket nearby , beach walking distance , McDonald’s Burger King walking distance ! This hotel doesn’t deserve all the negative comments sincerely !
