1) Front desk stuff was not helpful at all!!!
2) Access to the hotel’s lobby is only by stairs and all stuff was trying to pretend there were busy not to help at all. Luckily, we had only small suitcases, so that was not a problem for us, but still for this level of hotel I would expect welcome service in front of the hotel and not at the front desk.
3) I would not recommend “Historical One Bedroom King Suite” - it looks like the room had been plundered long time ago. There were literally no decorations whatsoever, be it old or new
Excellent location, staff very professional, and an amazing breakfast. Easy to tote our luggage to the cruise ship (about a 5 minute walk). Excellent apertivo just outside the hotel door. One night we were having apertivo and I just wanted something more. I order a gnocchi from their restaurant. I never had gnocchi with a meat sauce and it was excellent. Lots of shops and eating places. Would stay there again.
I loved our overnight stay at The Modernist! It’s a chic, smart, arty hotel in the centre of the city, easy walking distance to all the shopping, bars and restaurants. The room was spotless with tea, coffee, minibar and toiletries all provided. The restaurant and cocktail bar serves creative cocktails, a great buffet breakfast and a fabulous dinner - we enjoyed them all!!

It was the best location while traveling to Trieste.
The facilities are clean and the bathroom is satisfactory!
However, it was a pity that the sound insulation was not good.
The sea view that was slick was also goodㅎㅎ
I'm going to ask you guys planning a trip to Trieste.
It seems to be a good hotel!
Highly recommended
If you want to truly experience Trieste in the right location and with style then this is the place. A small perfectly built Palace run by staff who care about their guests. There is absolutely everything you need here. I arrived late at night and when I walked out onto the breakfast room the following room found myself saying wow at the view on the stunning Piazza. I choose this hotel because I had always wanted to stay there in Trieste, I did return for a second stay and I would stay there again. You are close to the sea, the historical centre, numerous bars and restaurants, shopping and tourist hotspots. The rooms are lovely, majestically clean. Breakfast are a relaxing experience you do not want to hurry because why would you with that view around you. The bar is the place to be throughout the day and also acts as an informal restaurant throughout the day. Formal is also available but that was not my choice. Rooms were large comfortable and very clean with the best amenities provided. Book your stay, you know you want to!
A stay at Hotel Vis a Vis places you in the heart of Trieste, steps from Palazzo del Municipio and Piazza di Cavana. This hotel is 0.3 mi (0.4 km) from Roman Theatre and 0.4 mi (0.7 km) from Chiesa di Santo Spiridione.

So glad I stayed here. It’s amazing inside and the staff (well most of them) are lovely too! Arrived during a national train strike so was stressed and just grateful to have arrived. My check in was great, the guy was friendly and informative. Escorted me to my room which was modern and he showed me how everything worked. Only thing I was disappointed in is there are no safes in the room - that can be so easily rectified. Didn’t have breakfast but I did bring a friend back for a drink in the evening only to be met by a miserable member of staff who so did not want to serve us drinks and when we insisted he made the cocktail with one small piece of ice! When I asked for more he gave me another small piece! Ridiculous! We weren’t the only ones to receive his misery! A group of 4/5 came in after us and were told they could take the drinks to their room! They were just as surprised as us with his rudeness. Anyway I haven’t detracted any points from this review because I spoke with the owner in the morning and she was lovely and apologised profusely. None of it was her doing but she was mortified and assured me she would deal with it which I trust she did. Would definitely return if in Trieste again 👍
Strategically located in the centre of the city, very well and tastefully decorated executive suites! Cleanness and attention to details that make your stay comfortable are just first-class level. Spacious, cosy and quiet rooms. It's a perfect location to discover and live all the beauties of the city, which are all at walking distance. Like the see by the way! Highly recommended.
Lovely hotel - very nicely located. We checked in after hours - they sent the instructions via email and text so it couldn’t have been any easier. the apartment was spacious and clean - we were only there for a night before our cruise but I would love to come back to this little town and stay here much longer. Highly recommend- the front desk staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Excellent
We stayed at the Urban Hotel prior to going on a cruise. The hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to the cruise terminal and train station. Our room was modern and clean. We were on the the fourth floor. Our room was very quiet. We could hear the church bells in the distance. The town square was a hop, skip and jump away. Perfect location. We would definitely stay again. The hotel had an amazing buffet breakfast. So many choices.
ああらんI made my first trip to Trieste.
The hotel is close to the station and you can walk to the downtown area, so the location is good.
Access to tourist bases is also outstanding.
The hotel itself is old, but it would be better to say that it has a taste.
The room was clean, the shower was full of water pressure and the hot water came out immediately.
If you eat breakfast well, is it good for a triple stroll? I enjoyed drinking late at night at a nearby bar and returned to the hotel, but it is a city without any anxiety
We waited too late to book hotels at the beginning of the summer, and ended up staying in three separate locations over the course of a five day stay in Trieste—but the two nights we had at Residenza Le 6A, by far the best hotel of our trip, more than made up for it. The room and building beautifully preserved early 20th century details (a period elevator, wood parquetry, Viennese-style chairs at the breakfast table—the listing photos don’t do it justice!) while providing modern conveniences (renovated bathroom, full kitchenette, very clean). The manager, Gabrielle, is extremely friendly, clearly passionate about the city and its history, and incredibly helpful wrt storing belongings after checkout. Thoughtful touches such as James Joyce decorated biscotti and a voucher for two free coffees at Caffe San Marco were lovely and contributed to the hotel’s graceful & subdued evocation of Joyce and Svevo’s Mitteleuropa. We also didn’t realize this before booking, but another pleasant surprise was that the hotel appears to be shabbos friendly (very poignant given the building’s history). Loved our stay; thank you to Gabrielle and everyone else!
GGuest UserThe hotel is a central hotel, in the heart of the ghetto, two minutes walk from the Piazza della Unita, restaurants and the heart of the city of Trieste. The hotel is very friendly and friendly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is fully renovated and new. The rooms are simple and quality. The location is very quiet in a adjacent street away from the tumult of bars and restaurants, however close to. In short, we feel good, very well, which is already a huge quality when traveling, and we leave this hotel and the city of Trieste with a little idea in the head: to come back very quickly, keeping the address of the hotel James valuable Joyce in the head. Sara, Giulio, thank you two! L
Cozy, clean, nice little hotel right in the heart of Trieste. Excellent and varied breakfast with both sweet and sour foods available. Personnel is very welcoming and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Trieste.
We found this cosy hotel well priced and oh so quiet and certainly a 5 star rating for the price. All the staff spoke excellent English and were unfailingly courteous. There’s a lift that helps if you have heavy luggage to manage. I think we paid around £80 a night for two and their help yourself breakfast came in at less than a fiver each. Brekky was ace - great coffee, juices, hams and cheeses, 3/4 varieties of jams, croissants, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and I’m sure I’ve left stuff out. The bedroom was well furnished, the shower could get to super hot and the entire place was spic & span clean. It’s pretty central and a 5 or so minute walk to the James Joyce statue in one direction and about the same the other way to the main Trieste train station. But now I must note my gratitude to the folks who work here. This was 5 star priceless. I arrived here weak and ill, discharged from a local Trieste hospital after 40 hours, having been food poisoned on an MSC cruise ship and dispatched from their ship hospital (where I was very well treated) to the hospital. My wife on the other hand was left by MSC to struggle on the dockside as the Armonia sailed away, just as the sun set, with most of our luggage still aboard. That’s a whole other story and we did re - board ship a week later in Venice. The only reason the ship docked in Trieste was high winds in Venice. On early morning arrival here from hospital to check-in we were offered cappuccinos and pastries while our room was prepared and it turned out these were complimentary. They knew we were coming and that I’d been hospitalised. Thereafter they helped us beyond our ability in words to thank them for all their kindnesses. I mean if Italy has an honours system for those who help others these gentle people deserve to be top of the list. One day I needed a doctor to get a fit to travel certificate and the young man at reception put in 14 phone calls for me including waiting on call backs. Over an hour later he achieved what I needed - just pause to think about this - over an hour and he dealt with other calls and guests too. What he did we simply could not have achieved by ourselves. My wife and I were just stunned at this humanity which came with a smile. Then he announced he needed a coffee and promptly proceeded to make all three of us cappuccinos offering fruit and pastries again all on the house. They translated for us, including medical papers, organised many taxi rides including one to Venice and could not have done more. So we can’t recommend here strongly enough. We truly were in great need and they delivered 100% and y’know we’ll never forget the humanity and all we could do was say thank you and we said it a lot.
GGuest UserThe apartment is located in a beautiful old building, in excellent location, just a few minutes from the Canale Grande/Vecchio. Very clean and ordently. Clean textiles. spacious. Once a week, a basic cleaning and replacement of bed linen and towels takes place. The bathroom is beautiful and well equipped. However, only the most necessary and simple is available. About standard articles such as. Wrists or tops are to be asked extra. In addition, the noise from the kitchen is unfortunately very noisy and disturbs significantly during sleep (therm and extremely noisy refrigerator). At my request, the heat was closed at night, nothing happened. The air conditioning works, but is extremely noisy during operation. The refrigerator was wrongly set and is poorly designed. The condensation water runs under the vegetable box and, by increasing it, ensures that the door is almost impossible to close, which is blocked. Problems such as the wrong setting of the refrigerator or the defected toilet washing box were quickly fixed by the staff. Partly, the walls could be removed and some items (e.g. beans in the bathroom) could be replaced.
The staff takes care of it, but you don't feel very welcome as a guest. It is provided a service to the guest with the necessary courtesy. All beyond that is not considered necessary.
Concluded: good accommodation in top position, best suited for unexpected and short stays. For me too expensive with these shortcomings. With a little effort you could improve the stay of guests a little bit and make it beautiful. Shame that so little customer connection is operated.
Lots to like but just not quite great. Firstly I have noted that the hotel is quick to say that flaws are due to the price point and perhaps the reviewers should go to a higher priced hotel. We stayed in a very similar hotel in Barcelona which was actual less official ”stars” than this one and it is clear from my reviews that we are not about luxury hotels. So I know what the experience of hotels like this should be. I gave the Barcelona one 5 stars. I know what I'm paying for. Good points - very clean, spacious rooms. Location was good although area isn't the best. Breakfast was great and breakfast room was lovely (if a bit cramped). Delicious croissants - plain, chocolate and custard filled - and juice, although the omelette (I think) looked inedible. Air con worked and beds were comfy. Bad points - the door to our 4 bed room was basically a fire escape - think double doors with push bar and to lock when you're in it at night you have to lock if from the outside first then shut it. Bizarre, made it feel like our room was an add on that used to be a corridor! Lifts did not go to bedroom floors (stopped on landing between floors) so you had to walk up or down one of the two flights of stairs between floors with your cases. Ok for us but if elderly not going to work. Our shower looked fancy in that it had a few water sprays, a large overhead shower head and a small handheld. In fact the only bit that worked was the small handheld one - the knob for the rest had been removed. Our son got locked in the bathroom immediately, took us several minutes to get him out. It was a sliding door so a few minutes later my husband came out and closed the door behind him and it locked and got stuck again 🙄 basically the door didn't fit and the lock thing was bent. Couldn't open it to use bathroom. We went out and asked them to fix it while we were gone. Returned hours later - still locked. All the way back down to reception from 4th floor (there's a phone in the room but no instructions on which number to press for reception 🙄). The man on reception apologized he had forgotten and came up and managed to open with a screwdriver. Didn't lock it again. Luggage storage is basically just allowing you to leave your luggage piled up in reception. I'm sure there's a better solution! So, we loved Trieste and the hotel did the job at a reasonable price but there are things that need to be resolved regardless of the price point. They clearly knew about the shower as they'd removed the knob for example instead of fixing it. Offering to help with bags and having a storage room. Fixing things when they do go wrong. Providing info needed eg what number on the phone does what? Completely blank and no info sheet. Small things that are basic expectations regardless of the cost of the room.
