Excellent
GGuest User+ Great location
+ Fantastic Breakfast
+ Lovely harbour view and while it was down to luck, we enjoyed the northern lights from the comforts of our room.
- Restaurant was really busy. No system in the morning and the staff hanging around are mostly there to clean up the used dishes. There should be a queue system when the restaurant is full. Additionally, night time service seems to be overwhelmed with tour (cruise?) group and conference guests, which is understandable especially if you don’t have a reservation. But staffers should inform diners if it would take more than an hour to serve the food.
- Reception not always the friendliest, though they do try to be helpful.
GGuest UserStayed for 2 nights! The room was cosy, and cute. The bed was really hard though, but the pillows were thick and soft! It was tidy and clean, and the bathroom was great with good pressure in the shower! The rooms had a TV with chromecast! Also the lights in the room were easy to control :) The hotel is really close to airport and traffic, but it's well isolated so we didn't get bothered by the noise of the traffic. As mentioned the hotel is close to ”jekta”, just a few minutes walk. And it's not a long drive if you prefer to bathe at ”Tromsø badet” It's easy to get there by car, but if you don't like driving there is a bus stop for route 28 right beside the hotel which makes it easier to travel to the mainland and back. Reception, bar and breakfast is at the top floor, with lot of room to he social or just enjoy the sight alone. They also had board games you could use! The only REALLY minus of our stay were that the service were a bit slow. We asked for help with the TV several times without luck. But I am not to mad about it due to few personel and high workload while we were there. (And the personel were really nice and polite) The hotel may wanna make an easier note that breakfast is NOT included in the room (as they traditionally are in tromsoe). And also how much breakfast cost! On your website it only says when breakfast is served (and that it's free until March 2024, which it were not). We were informed in the morning breakfast was 199 NOK per person, luckily with shopping center close by, and food market breakfast is easy to acquire. To sum it up: will stay at the hotel next time as well!
GGuest UserThe best way to describe this hotel is average in every way. Everything in Tromso is ”central” - it's not a big place so that isn't really a selling point. The rooms are very small (even the ”deluxe” ones) and there are only two elevators for a pretty sizable 8 story hotel so get ready for the stairs. I paid extra to be on the 8th floor because I read the reviews about the nightclub underneath and boy they were right - I could hear thumping well into the night so bring your earplugs (the club appears to only be open Thursday - Saturday so if you're travelling outside of that, I'm sure it's more tolerable to try to sleep). Hindsight being 20/20, I would've paid $30-40 more to stay at one of the better rated hotels.
OONG JesslynThis room wasn’t as expected as I stayed in room 703 before. This room 225 was small for 3 adults. No space to open luggages. Lack of charging port. One charging point next to entrance of the door and placed so high that our cables wasn’t long enough to reach we have to pull a chair (see photo luggage height) The tv is spoilt too, u have to adjusted up and down to get TV to be working!!! You have to informed reception to open door to parking so that you can park your car inside, just pay a fee. I love the breakfast buffet.
Jjojo.xuArriving in Tromso, I felt like I was in the Arctic Circle as soon as I got off the plane. It was so beautiful! The hotel was great and the stay was great.
The breakfast was very rich, in a buffet style, with a lot of food.
The location of the hotel was very good. It was very convenient to walk to the pier to see the Arctic Cathedral on the other side and the Tromso Bridge. It was also very close to the main street, just a few minutes' walk away.
Highly recommended!
PPavanLocated in city centre, but room was small for the price.
The good thing is they allowed us to checkin before time, which is the first time happened to us.
SSherrrrryThe breakfast food was good, the location was good, and the refreshments were good. I didn’t try dinner.
Those with Aurora tours at the reception are very convenient.
The only drawback is that the room card cannot be photographed. Every time the room card opens the door, sometimes it cannot be connected and has to be handled at the reception desk. The sound insulation is a little bit different.
OONG JesslynI didn’t read my email. They sent an email after 8pm informing us our key details as we check in at 11:15pm. Everything is so good, key pick up, drive to room and park beside our cabin. U can view stars from the room ceiling window. There’s a balcony with table and chairs, view of snowy mountains, damn beautiful. We drove out at night away 20mins from cabin and found our fist northern lights at 1:20am super excited!!! This lodge is fantastic we will back to stay if we come back to Tromso.
What I liked - the location, the staff, comfortable bed, breakfast. What could be improved - add espresso/cappuccino machine and pastries , there was a sign in the room saying the room is cleaned on Tuesday, but nobody came to empty at least the garbage (there is only 1 small bin in the bathroom). The rooms are not sound proof, so noise is coming both from the street and from the corridor, so bring an ear plugs.
This holiday was initially booked for March 2020 but due to covid it was postponed for 2 years. The staff kept in contact with me the whole time and I added extra nights. They were so lovely. We were given accommodation outside the city so if I called them they would book us taxi's. The accommodation was beautiful, very clean, modern and fully equipped. This made our stay just so perfect. I would go back 100% and recommend to everybody . Photos are view from the terrace.
