I should have seen the red flag when I booked this motel over the phone. The Best Western reservations person assured me I was getting the best rate. However, when I got off the phone, I checked on line and found the same room for $25 less. So I had to go to the trouble to cancel my first booking and re-book on my own for the lower price. When I went up to the room, I could immediately hear highway traffic through the windows. I went back to the front desk to try and move to a quieter room, but was told all rooms were full for that day. This was at 5 pm, so it seems a bit hard to believe that everyone had already arrived and that she couldn’t switch me to a different room on the quiet side of the building. When I got ready to shower, the on-off handle and heat level handles were very difficult to operate. Never had seen a set-up like that in any other hotel. The next morning, the alarm clock went off at 6 am, about 2 hours earlier than I wanted. I couldn’t figure out how to shut it off, so I had to unplug it from the wall. The bed was comfortable, but the sheets and comforter were too small for the queen bed, so they wouldn’t stay tucked in and kept sliding off during the night. The beds also slope to the sides, so you have to stay towards the middle of the bed to avoid sliding off. The breakfast was the one positive, as they had plenty of hot and cold options that were all good.
