Best Hotels near Stanley Park, Vancouver

I came to Vancouver from the island without a car. The hotel was easy to fine and close to excellent shopping and restaurants. Large windows overlook the city. I appreciated the large refridgerator and freezer.

Easy to drive, there are places to eat around

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

Vancouver is beautiful, lots to do, and Cambie Hostel Gastown is close to the cruise port (walking distance, with 1 rolling luggage, about 5 blocks), safe, with great bars and restaurants. If you take Greyhound, the bus station is a block from the rail (2 bucks for seniors, I am 65), go north towards Cambie Hostel Gastown, at stop walk about 5-6 blocks (or take taxi). Once you are there, make sure your credit card was cleared with bank (call ahead and let them know you are traveling abroad, if required), pay, get keys, drop bags in room, then go out and enjoy all that Vancouver has to offer. Cambie Hostel is attached to a bar, party on, with young travelers from all around the world, so enjoy interacting with them during your stay. I am going back in 3 wks for another Alaska cruise. This time at Ctrip.com, this hotel first encountered the problem of Ctrip's promotion of Chinese services and found that there was no Chinese service at all. Stayed here for a week in December while working downtown. It was a mistake. Place is very run down and poorly maintained. Rooms were not clean at all, I complained to the front desk and to their credit they sent up housekeeping that day, but when I first checked in (I booked a Kitchen suite so I could cooks some meals) One of the top cupboards ion the Kitchen had pigeon feathers in it. Lets just say I did not cooking for the 5 days I was there!

A family of three, set a suite. The hotel is located on Gay Street and the bar is downstairs. If you are afraid of noise, you can have a high-rise floor. This price is good in this position! Parking must first have a card at the hotel, turn right at the entrance of the door, then turn right to see the white sign in, you can enter and exit 24 hours a day without limit. We started to go to Jasper by car at 5:30 the next morning, so we chose the parking at the back of the hotel. We parked the car and chose the package that was closed at 6 am the next day. Nice clean hotel in a lovely area of the city. Though, we booked a double room with a seaview, but upon arival at the hotel, they told us that only standard city view rooms were available. That was a bit disappointing. Also, cold insulation in the room wasn't good and heating system did not work properly. We asked the hotel staff if anything could be done, and they brought us a portable room heater, which saved the day. We had breakfast at the bar on the first floor and it was truly fantastic. Overall, the hotel was nice and we consider coming back in the future.

The location is superb, just beside Stanley Park, and it takes less than 5 minutes to walk left and walk.
