Unique stay in a well-preserved historic home with period furniture. Staff were very friendly and helpful but did seem a bit new and not very smooth. We went down tot he bar on our first evening to ask for a new coffee pod for in the morning. The bar worker looked all over for one but couldn't. Our room was great but we did have to work to get it cool enough when we first arrived because some of the rooms share a thermostat. We left our door open for a little while when we first arrived and that helped immensely and then we were comfortable. We were free to roam the house, even look in rooms that weren't occupied, and go out on the balconies - 3 to choose from (front, back, and rooftop). They offer a free history tour 9-10. Grounds were nice to stroll around. Parking was a bit sparse and only had a couple paved spots and the rest were awkwardly positioned on a gravel hill. Our room had a nice TV and a fridge. The price was more than we typically spend, but we also felt like it was an experience staying in such a historically rich home. Breakfast was only available 8-9 but was made fresh and served to us when we arrived. They had a soft opening of dinner for the public the weekend we were there. When they called to confirm our stay they offered us a table and sent me an email with the weekend's menu. We decided to eat dinner there and it was also a bit pricey, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal - chicken etoufee had a marvelous depth of flavor broth we'd love the recipe for. Two of the new owners were there and walked around the dining area during dinner and were very nice. We enjoyed our stay here and if we ever find ourselves in the Vicksburg area, we will stay again.
